    Hello Hogi.
I've noticed it gets worse when your immune system is feeling a a bit low, a bit like if you have the flu or a bad cold, or even worse if you feel stressed or depressed, I noticed you are from Durham " The Land of the Prince Bishops" the same as me, I use the Audiology Department at Sunderland Royal Hospital and I couldn't ask for a more truthful diagnosis from anyone,I was told, I'ts going to get worse, there's no current cure, and there's nothing we can do about it, after the initial shock I realised that I had to start facing the fact that I was stuck with it, to be fair they said, don't think we've given up on you but we don't want you wasting time coming here, but if you feel the need, just come straight back and just see the receptionist and we'll see you as soon as possible, that,s because of the high rate of suicide in tinnitus sufferers, keep an eye on this thread mate because I think others might be able to help us.

My brother-in-law has it in a bad way. He copes with it somehow. I have started using earplugs.... (Oxford Ear Plugs SNR35). I sincerely hope those of you with these issues, you find something to make it bearable. This is a good thread and very informative. I will advice my brother-in-law about BB's solution.

    Update
Iv'e been taking the CBD oil now for just over a week, and the results are, Pro's, I'm not feeling so anxious or worried about things as much as I did, Con's, I'ts sadly done nothing about the loud ringing in my ears, I feel sorry for the sufferers like me, we'll just have to put up with it, but please don't think it might not work for you, I'd try anything to stop the ringing noise.

I'm still going to use the oil as it's making me feel more relaxed, and I don't give a feck about my job anymore lol, no need to say sorry BB, I'd try anything to stop this ringing.

Sorry that the oil hasn’t stopped the noise for you guys but you have hit on the idea of how being less stressed about it is beneficial.

This change of emotional response to this rotten problem can be mined a bit more.

You’ll know worrying about the tinnitus happening or getting wound up by it doesn’t prevent it or reduce it. So it might be worth trying out a different approach or ‘stance’ to see if it helps. Taking an attitude of not giving shit about it whether it’s there or not, could be something to have a go with. Worth a few practice goes perhaps. This different attitude to the tinnitus isn’t about fighting it rather it is more about accepting it. The idea being that you will be less stressed and wound up by it.

I hope this is useful. I’m not a tinnitus sufferer but before I retired from the NHS I had worked with a number of people with tinnitus over the years.

    Hi David,

I went to Sunderland Royal too, a really good service although they couldn't really help with it, but I was grateful for the advice anyway.
It pushed me to invest in a good set of ear plugs as my £20 pair weren't helping and my head was ringing after each ride.
I got some from customfit guards which seem to do the trick so it's kept me on the road and I'm grateful for that.
I agree that it's worse when you're run down or tired so it's best to accept the situation and look after yourself, stay calm.
It's some comfort to know we're not alone.
