Exactly Andy. I wanted super simple, few toys (more to go wrong) and a proven unburstable engine, so settled on the 650 VStrom. Actually even the VStrom is too sophisticated with its 2 spark plugs per cylinder nonsense ;)

Yes I agree. It's getting like cars these days, they are building them for people who can't drive. People who can't park or set off on a hill etc etc, makes me laugh.

    Your right Andy.

For me all these new fangle gadgets rider assist things take a lot of enjoyment out of riding.
Give me a classic bike any day, you’ve got to think about what your doing, they’re more engaging to ride

I am actually surprised, no one mentioned this bike yet...

    https://www.motoguzzi.com/de_DE/Moto/enduro/V85/V85-TT/

It is a beautiful machine in my personal view and it gets great reviews.

(Pls let us not start about what shite bikes the Italians build. We have already chewed on this enough with the Americans, the Brits and the Germans and the only shite things, we have to get done with, is Zoppo Trump* and Corona...)

And this time, I will NOT delete this.

*Zoppo Trump is the well known leader of the mean underground-dwelling Trump-Tribe and adversary of King Kallewirsch, whom he plans to overthrow from his throne...

Yes I agree Dave, but you need both! A modern, reliable bike you don't think twice about riding across to Europe and a wonderfully characterful old school ride that might get you to the nearest cafe before needing attention!

I do like the Guzzi Daniel, it has bags of character and I like the quirky looks and the fact it will probably be the only one at the bike meet.

Ridden plenty of classics for 100 miles around the Peak District without a hiccup ;):)

Excellent point and an even better suggestion, SprinterII. I get a little overzealous once in a while.
