    Thanks, @Ducatitotriumph! Yeah, I was sorely disappointed we missed out on tacos or (what I was jonesing for) a breakfast burrito when we missed Alphonso's in Payson. But in Tucson, many Mexican restaurants do what they call "Taco Tuesday" so we commonly either get tacos on Tuesdays or we do take-out Mexican food on "Mexican Monday". Oh yes, and there's one place nearby that has "Tequila Thursdays"--all tequilas and mezcals are 1/2 off. It's a great way to try different (and expensive) brands without buying a whole bottle.

    Glad to know I'm your "taco route of this covid hell!!" :joy::joy: :joy: Perhaps I'll post a photo or two of my tacos the next time we get takeout. I'm partial to grilled fish or shrimp tacos myself and I also love carnitas. :yum:heart: Mr. Sandi likes asada and chicken. Do you have a favorite?

    Thanks Sandi. The write up perfectly reminds us what a bike holiday looks like. We have had a few like that, particularly our group rides over to Holland for the MotoGP. However those trips often ended with a few expensive speeding fines as well....Let’s hope we are near the end of this hiatus and we can get back out again soon. Your write ups are really enjoyable and shows what biking looks like the other side of the pond.

    I was introduced to a proper taco in SLC utah about 4 years ago and tbh, since then all have been rubbish.
    I had one 3 years ago in arlington (TX) and it wasn’t quite as good but bloody hell, when done well, it's amazing!

    Hi Sandi T;
    No, not the red paintings, she looks like she has a feather duster on her head.
    Cheers,Ken.

    I went back and looked at that photo again, Ken, and you're right. It does look like she has a feather duster on her head! A feather duster attached to the top of a little skull cap. :joy: I didn't notice her and her hat when we were there. Now wish I'd been more observant to see what in the world she was wearing on her head.

    Amazing write up Sandi, your best yet. Great photos too.
    Over here in the Netherlands April has been particularly cool, so rather envious of your lovely warm weather. Cafes and restaurants that have outdoor seating are allowed to open but only for limited number of hours during the day and not in the evening.

    @BonnieCat
    Thanks, Nikki! I appreciate the positive feedback on the writeup. :kissing_heart:

    Hope you're temperatures warm up and that you will soon have more options available for cafes and restaurants. Our days here are definitely heating up. As I write this, it's 91ºF.

    There are quite a few variations in Tucson regarding the specific Covid protocol and requirements among businesses. Although our state governor has lifted all restrictions, businesses are still allowed to make their own decisions regarding expectations and hours. I have to say that it feels pretty strange to go into some places and it's as if there's no pandemic--no masks, little distancing, etc. This seems particularly true in motorcycle dealerships. In other places, people are still continuing to behave as we have for over a year now. Even though my husband and I have had both Pfizer vaccinations, we still won't make a practice of eating indoors at a restaurant at least in the near future.

    Awesome trip report @Sandi T, I’m so glad I found my way back to the thread :p after seeing the first post and then no updates.
    Again I loved zooming in on the meals to see the selection and reading the menus and the signs.:yum It sounds like the schedule was well planned for group and alone time, which helps.
    My last group trip and reading your post, reminds me of how spoilt we have been in NZ. Even though our group are careful due to our age bracket :weary_face:, we pretty much go on as normal with lots of scanning and hand wash.
    Loved all the pix and “living” the trip with you all :cool:
