The Lawnmower Incident

My wife is not a dumb blond. Not by any measure. I mean, she was smart enough to marry me. However, when she was younger, she was just not, shall we say - mechanically inclined. Later, having owned her own business (K-9 obedience training and grooming) as well as becoming a state certified paramedic, she has come a long way.

My yard is almost 3/4 acre. When we moved in, all I could afford was a Craftsman push mower. Cutting the grass was a 2.5 hour ordeal. After a couple years I treated myself and upgraded to a Craftsman self-propelled mower. It was still a chore, but somewhat better with the self-propelled machine. I was on my way home from work one hot, July afternoon, not looking forward to the thought of having to cut to the lawn after dinner. When I pulled into the driveway I was pleasantly surprised to see that lawn had been cut! I came into the house to see my bride laying on the couch, exhausted, bathed in sweat and barely able to move (actually, I kinda' prefer my women that way). "Are you OK?" I asked. She replied, "I don't know what you paid for that so-called, self-propelled, lawn mower, but that thing was a bitch. It was harder to use than the old push mower." I said "You've got to be kidding. All you need to do is pull in the lever and steer."

Says she "What lever?"
