I agree: my friend didn't understand it either. The 'oo-err Matron' suggests a double entendre, but even my friend's fertile mind still doesn't get it. Is 'flange' perhaps a Norfolk term for something rude?

I work with a lady that goes on about her child being extremely awkward about eating broccoli. A long running theme. The kid even climbed over a fence to escape rather than eat it. The kid is on the ‘spectrum’ so i’m very sympathetic.
