You'd think that the dozy gits would at least have put sugar in the tanks and sand in the oil fillers before leaving them behind. Back in WW1, my grandad's artillery unit was in danger of encirclement, but he stayed behind and blew up his gun to stop the Germans from getting it, and was decorated for gallantry. Not much of that sort of thing happening in Afghanistan in the last few weeks, it would seem..

 

We’d best start a rumour with the Taliban that like goats and ponies, HMMWVs also crave sugar lumps.
