Clearly our generation(s) grew up experiencing such things as the War, post war rationing, Cold War and potential nuclear holocaust, 3 TV channels, party telephone lines and no wireless / internet. We didn’t understand the concept of a deprived adolescence on the basis none of us had anything.

I and many others made up for it by have a thoroughly depraved lifestyle that we had to organise for ourselves without social media with friends we actually met.
