Loved Bar Six and Fireball XL5 was my favourite Gerry and Silvia Anderson show - probably because the main bloke was called "Steve"!
Silver spoon me.....my first car was a Singer Chamois - so there! (for those too young.... a Hillman Imp with a few bits of wood on the dash and chrome trim / pretend grill)
I had one a Johnny Seven for Christmas when I was about 6, had huge fun shooting the cat all morning, strangely all the grenades and rockets etc were nowhere to be found after Christmas dinner, (I think my Mum felt sorry for the cat!).
And moved the rear stay and seat forward so you didn't tip off the back when you rode up a hill (or factory ramp). Did my apprenticeship (remember those) at Raleigh 45 years ago when they were huge, used to get around the factory unsurprisingly on push bikes, working in the design office you got a Chopper to ride around on.
Remember this stuff? It was like John Wayne. It was rough, it was tough and it didn’t take no s**t!
