Just been building this 10' x 8' shed, turned out the Inside was only 7' so had to extend the door out so the bike would fit, grrr.

Yes I've always thought the Cobra was a good cult car. Now though I'd be more inclined to build a turbo Busa based car personally. Just think, paddle shifters, all those revs and a nice pipe.... what's not to like?

    Nice Busa MK.
Did you build it or buy it?
    What engines in ASBO?

I've said for a while now if I got bored of bikes or became "too old" for them then my efforts and funding would be redirected into something like this. Can't see that happening though as really enjoying the Triumph.

The soundtrack and induction roar are so important though. My old KR1S airbox sounded lovely when wide open and that's one of the first things that drew me to the 765.
Mercedes AMG 6.3 is another one with a nice sound but being a Yorkshireman I wouldn't want to put the fuel in it.

By the way, your garage doors are the same as my old ones.
Having now gone up in the world, read old ones gone rotten :joy:, mine are now electric.

Tuned R1 sounds a good choice.
A mate had an ex-race R1 and used to track day it. After a few crash rebuilds he streetfightered it. I rode it after the last reincarnation. Renthal bars, sat upright with real weight loss on the front plus front sprocket minus 2. It would wheelie everywhere whether you wanted to or not in fact it was a bit of a liability but fun while it lasted.

Doors: Maybe i should have said "in appearance" as they weren't that thick and came with the house so not done bad as had done 29 years.

Didn't the grip increase move the problem (clutches, chains, steelwork) ?

Once built a 3.9 v8 90 on low ratio transfer gears. You could spin that out of junctions on dry tarmac. First proper off road play blew the planet gears out of the rear diff and chipped the crown wheel at the front :joy: Happy days.

Proper DRO's (digital readouts) ain't cheap but I wanted an industrial standard and it makes the job so much easier.
The lathe was £2500ish in 1984 and i reckon it is still worth that today. They come in two colours, green as mine or white and yellow which looks more like it came from down the pit.
It's 3 phase and so powered off a rotary converter with a single phase take off for the dro. Speeds are something like 50 Rpm to 2000. Spindle bore is 30 mms.

    How about this for a lovely little antique;

An oil barrel with hand pump dispenser. Various brass fittings including the pump obviously built to last.
I'd guess it would be dated late 60s early 70s unless anyone can provide more info or knows better?

I cleaned it out and filled it with degreaser and it makes a lovely little compact but effective parts washer for assembling engines etc.
