Received my letter from Triumph today for the recall. Now got my Speed Twin booked in for this Friday. Shame Triumph have not also done a recall on the front squeaky brakes :(

Yep. I got a letter for the gear change linkage recall today as well. Will have to give it my dealer as I traded my speed twin last November. I agree on the squeaky brakes, they should definitely do something about that as well. Can’t believe they have ignored this for so long and owners have just accepted it.

Recall done today by Bulldog... all done in less than half an hour! :)

Bit chilly today, but felt great to be back on the Speedy.

Didn't see any other bikes on the road!!

    Hi Everybody

Also checked my gear lever assembly and all nice and tight etc.
Then my gear shift "Rose Joint" pin sheared a couple of days ago and left me stuck at traffic lights.
Triumph had to replace the entire gear lever assembly (Gear lever and "Rose Joint" comes as one unit).
As I understand it from talking to the dealer the safety recall is for gear linkage disassembly, addition of new lock tight and re-assembly only.
Nothing concerning any parts replacement due to any pin shearing issue.
    Regards

Mine sheared as well. Thriumph said after it had been fixed it would not happen again. Interesting that a number of the stock part have now failed on different bikes, which confirms my conviction back to Triumph that they could not make the statement that it would not fail again as they fixed it with exactly the same part as was fitted from new. On this issue and the squealing brakes on the speed twin should be raising real concerns for owners, what is next to fail on this bike.....
