Thought I'd take some pictures of the cam chain tensioner for those who are interested. First one is as it came out of the bike: IMG_20240111_121042.jpg
    Showing plunger and spring: IMG_20240111_121218.jpg

Incidently, the snap ring and resistor ring (see the service manual) are very lightweight. Reassembly was pretty simple. I could push the plunger back in using my thumb (no need to use a vice), hold in position and locate the snap ring.

These hydraulic/spring tensioners are pretty similar across different manufacturers. My Husaberg has (had) one which gave trouble so I replaced it with a Dave Hopkins manual tensioner. My first Street Scrambler would give a few "ticks" on startup until the oil pressure came up but the one on the current bike rarely does it. The ZZR also has one but has never given trouble. The removal/installation procedure on all of them is virtually the same.

My 675 if left parked on the sidestand for a while, say 1 or 2 months, will rattle the cam chain tensioner for the first half minute or so then settle down.
The sidestand being on the left must drain down the tensioner being on the right but no issue really although worrying until you get used to it.

Hi Do you know if those clearance specs are the same on the 2022 model Euro 5? I apologise for my picture of my current bike being a Honda CB1100RS but later this week it will be a speedtwin
