This isn't a Speed Triple but it is a real bike and it could of changed the direction Triumph went in if they produced these bikes. In a way it was actually lucky that they didn't as we may have lost the speed triple all together and that wouldn't have been good.
There is more than one bike like this in existence but they are very rare, see if you can tell what the difference is?

Yes the were a couple of bikes in the States and there are a couple in the UK (all called Speed Quatro's) I have seen the one in the picture at the time it was built it was put in front of John Bloor with regards to becoming a production bike, it was unsuccessful, This bike could have done very well for triumph as a year later the 1200 bandit came out.

Every bike company are going to make the wrong call every now and again although I am glad we have the triple instead, but it is very much a case of what if.

    Cheers

Got a power commander on now, throttle response is awesome and 143bhp at the back wheel. Gilles rearsets took a while to arrive but look mint image.jpg

143bhp at the back wheel..! Blimey. That's some hike.
I'm having my Speed "uncorked" with a full ECU reprogramme at BSD Performance. A reprogramme is reckoned to be a more comprehensive solution than a Power Commander. Can I really expect that sort of increase?

Sorry I'm dyslexic lol it is 134bhp at the rear wheel and 81ftlb of torque from 3000rpm. I was told by two different places that your limited with what you can do with the triumph software. Mine was popping and banging when backing off then stuttering when opening the throttle. The throttle response is really crisp now and nice blue flames when backing off. The HM quickshifter is great, can't wait to get it round donington park

That's still a pretty good improvement. Given that factory bhp figures are given at the crank you've gained the best part of 10 bhp. Where did you have it done?

I am a newbie from Hong Kong, riding a 2010 Speed with 3000 km on board. Few questions I am seeking advice:

    - Is it a big difference if change the arrow slip-on exhaust?
    - I found that my current fork is a bit sluggish. Feel the spring is moving inside. Is it normal?

Hi Yeung and welcome to the forum. with regards to the Arrow Exhaust there is a small increase in power ( make sure the bike gets remapped to the exhaust or it will make it run worse) the big improvement is the reduction in weight from the stock can which does make a difference as well a far better sound :upyeah:

I'm not sure what you mean with regards to the other part though? I'm guessing that you are having issues with the front suspension??

If you could explain a bit more then I'm sure one of us could help.

Great photos by the way

    Many thanks

    Steve

    Steve,

Thanks for your feedback on the exhaust issue.

With regard to the suspension issue, it is way much better after I well set the compression. Previously, it is too strong and HK road surface are too bumpy. Now the corner is more responsive and I am more relax

BTW, any improvement I can do for the ignition system. I expect the pick up could be more faster..hehe

    more photo to share:
