True, but Roger Waters did start trying to take over and take the Floyd name with him, great musician regardless.
I still think it's a shame that they kicked Richard Wright out, he contributed a lot.

i guess Roger still thought of him as the "new boy" a case of 2 brilliant minds not agreeing..bit like Lennon and Mcartney. i always thought Richard Wright left of his own free will? maybe that was just the official word, he did rejoin them again once Roger had left though so maybe it was Roger he had fell out with.

Apart from one of these days I dont think I ever got the Floyd. I had a copy of the DSOTM but then again so did everyone those days, lol, kind of early days of stereo speakers ( it was wasnt it,if not it was for me ???), and me and my mate at the time used to love the sound travelling round my bedroom.

a lot of there albums are more like Rock operas, you really have to listen to the whole album (preferably on your own in a darkened room!) and the more you hear them they just seem to get better and better, not really a group you can dance to though. i listened to Silent Lucidity and a few others by Qeensryche and they are so like floyd songs, vocals, drums and guitars were very similar

Yeah I think that's what happened, however I'm sure he was pushed to make that decision. Roger thought he wasn't contributing enough and still getting the same amount of money as the rest of them.

I like Claptons version, but J.J Cale is the man.

On seeing Johnny Winter, how about his brother ;)

i've not listened to a lot of Black Sabbath but i thought the vocals sounded different so did a google but I'm still none the wiser Ozzy quit during the recording of the album and another vocalist stood in but it seems he returned so I'm not sure who the singer is.. any fans here to clear the mystery up?

yeah they sound very similar Jez,thought it might be another singer who has a similar tone, bit like when Brian Johnson took over as lead singer with AC/DC when Bon Scott died
