one of my favourite bands,i never saw them live (With Phil ),but i watched the "Live and Dangerous" at the Rainbow on tv and it was brilliant, saw "Thin Lizzy" about 6 years ago in Glasgow before they renamed themselves Black Star Riders Ricky Warwick is good but no one will ever replace Phil
    Heres one from BSR

I am indeed fortunate and blessed to have seen the 'original' Thin Lizzy live at least half a dozen times back in the '70s & '80s! I would travel to two or 3 of the most 'local' gigs if they were touring. They were just astonishing live. Raw talent, raw ability and raw, REAL rock music.

I went to one Lizzy gig at Bristol Colston Hall - no idea what date it was but probably late '70s. Pretty much at the end of the concert Lynott announced that Eric Bell, who had left the band a few years earlier, had been playing in a local club (probably a blues club) that night and had agreed that he would join the band on stage for "Whiskey in the Jar". The place erupted when he came out and the trademark "twin guitar attack" was transformed - I think it would have been Gary Moore, Scott Gorham and Eric Bell ....... whiskey never 'tasted' so good!

I don't know if they get to your neck of the woods but if you ever get the opportunity try and get to a gig by a band named "Limehouse Lizzy". They are a 'tribute' band but a very, very good one. They don't try to "imitate" the original but their renditions are pretty faithful to the originals and they are a very talented, hard working outfit. Well recommended if you like the original Lizzy stuff.

I have all the BSR albums and have seen them live a couple of times. Good, but not the original and not the best!

    My 2p.:)
