i was like sprinter i found it difficult to remember what i learnt the night before, i wish i had took it up when i was younger when some of my mates were learning,i think it would be a lot easier if you had a mate who was at the same level as you and you could learn together,i stuck it out for about a year or so but once you have learnt the chords you really need to practice a few hours every night if you want to really improve,i sometime still have a wee jam to myself now and again, sounds good to me but probably a lot of Pi** to anyone else!

Me and the wife had this at our wedding, along with Walking by Myself, also Gary Moore and Peter Greens Need Your Love so Bad, not that we're blues fans or anything!

Take your lesson, practice when able... but not so you get sick of it... that Justin’s Guitars website is really good, there’s another one called Marty Schwartz who is very good too.... the beauty of going to a website is that you can choose songs you want to learn to play, where as lessons have structure to teach you specific skills at certain points in your progression.... you’ll be more inspired to learn when you have a few tracks you can “campfire” strum along... and the good thin is you can use both methods of learning along side each other.

Good luck and stick with it Dude!

Here’s my track for the day... enjoy

It's hard to find a version that isn't mimed (and let's face it Pete wasn't the best at singing along to his own songs), but here's a more recent post Fleetwood Mac version with Hame - Pete's the chap centre stage wearing the cap playing the blue/green and white Fender.

A small anecdote, SWMBO and I often used to pop in to Twickenham MacDonalds for a late night bite. And often there was this tramp looking guy used to be sitting outside. That was Pete Green at one of his low points back in the mid-nineties.

One of the few songs I know all the words to and which I often sing to myself is in my profile below - the Richard Thompson classic sung here by Miranda Russell.

But in the soundtrack to my life two bands stand out for sheer entertainment value. Family from Leicester being one, and then possibly the most under-rated band of all time, the Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Alex Harvey, 'the oldest teenager in the world'. Passed way too young. I often sing along to their songs. My son's a chef so why not this one.

... Look I know this is too feckin soppy, but when I'm in a sentimental maudlin mood I just can't get this fecker out of my head, 'Hey Sweetheart' by another under-rated band, Doll By Doll, from the album Gypsy Blood, described by the Telegraph as British Rock's lost masterpiece by the greatest band you've never heard of. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/...c/3664428/British-rocks-lost-masterpiece.html Not the best track, but a feckin infectious catch line by an incredible singer-songwriter, Jackie Leven.

The ex-SWMBO (for whom I still hold a candle) used to drag me along to see Jackie Leven post Doll by Doll. She's got to be the band's biggest fan. Got Jackie to sing this by request one Valentines Day concert. Boy was I in the good books for ages afterwards. Anyway, try the album ... listen to Jackie's voice shift effortlessly from baritone to falsetto on songs like 'Stripshow'. An amazing vocal range. I still listen to all four albums on vinyl but especially this one.

Some favourite soppy lines, almost poetic:
'...And then love comes, And she takes my breath away ... breath away ... Took my breath away ...'

'She Lives in a steel cold world, Where sad men in leather fight over girls. Break my heart but don't let me down, The first time I kissed you we lay on the ground.' (from Human Face).

hey lads, it'd be nice to have a few words to explain why it's on your soundtrack rather than just posting random youface clips, not that that they aren't interesting songs ... just a thought.
