Yes same here Dougie, I have spent hundreds of hours watching and reading about the old boxers.
I discovered the Mark Knopfler track whilst reading Paul Gallenders biography on Sonny Liston, a great read

'A little ol' wine drinker me' is one of my favourites.
On a different note, pulled up AC-DC thunderstruck on you tube and also found The Rubberbandits' 'I gota horse outside', one of my present greyhounds was named after this record, I think the band are actually a comedy programme on Irish RTE.
I've loved this song for years too!

I love Trad jazz, dug out some of my cd's this morning, Chris Barber, Bilk, Ball, Cy Laurie, lots more, I used to be down at the Cliffs Pavillion every Sunday night, and the Esplanade on Southend sea front on Thursdays, many of the musicians were friends, Cy, Eggy Lay, Digby Fairweather (and his mum) etc.
Met Monty Sunshine many times, along with Beryl Bryden, Humphrey Littleton amongst others.
Those were the days of the mid-late 80's to early 90's, the Southend scene, even had street Trad jazz in the shopping centres then too.

Apologies lads and lassies, this post isn't entirely for it's musical content.

Just been watching a program about the making of this album. On the subject of the picture, it was all done for real and took the stuntman and the snapper 23 takes to get the flames.
This is probably my most favorite album EVER :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

If you like The 'Big O' then watch Roy Orbison and friends on BBC Four
Simply superb, filmed live in Los Angeles, look out for a few other faces you may recognise as well.

    Hi Andy,

....more quirky than strange I'd say.......it sounded a bit like Tiiny Tim to me to start with....now,he was strange!......

....but as you say, it's a catchy little number.....

....how do I load a track onto this thread?...........I'd like to put a bit of Seasick Steve on here.....I like his music as it is so raw, uncomplicated, good lyrics and certainly gets my foot tapping.....

    Cheers,

    dickydido
