I would say if you can't afford to lose it then take it with you. I have left stuff on mine and it has never been touched, but the only things I leave is easy to replace stuff like t shirts and underwear etc....if someone wants to nick my used clothes then good luck to them.

 

Crossed to Ireland lots of times, leaving Kriega on the bike, no trouble. On the America, you can't remove panniers, so they stay on, aswell as the roll bag.

As others have said, vehicle decks are locked.

Don't think I would leave my helmet, not just cost, but you are screwed until you get a new one. Too much of a risk.

 

Agree - would not leave a helmet on the bike unless locked to it.
