You can guarantee there will be those intent on finding a way to abuse the scheme, just as furlough was, to make a fast £ and really couldn't give a toss about the refugees' well being.

That, coupled with the fact that Ukraine is one of the most corrupt countries in Europe.

    What could POSSIBLY go wrong?

The government is having a laff at our expense, seriously £350 a month will not feed them never mind pay for utilities tbh,can you imagine the government telling the council they will get £350 hah I think you know what they would get told,it's just to make it look like they are doing good but doing it on the cheap, next thing they will be telling you to take Afghan refugees where does it end.

To be honest allthough I agree with your comments, I should point out the payment is purely for the benefit of the person taking in the refugee/s.
The actual refugee or refugees will get full access to all benefits for themselves, food and the like will be down to themselves to provide, I do agree the amount is not an incentive at all (neither should it be) it will not even cover the extra heating and costs involved with others living in your house and using all your equipment, furniture, utensils etc let alone the inconvenience caused to your lifestyle.
Where this figure actually came from surprises me, furthermore just where they intend to re-house all these thousands of families and individuals after the agreed 6 months of being taken in by folk and organisations is somewhat baffling.
The mind boggles at all the unanswered questions sorrounding all of this.

Please don't confuse this with racism. The Ukrainians are fleeing Putin's genocide. The Calais crowd are mainly economic and illegal migrants.

This is quite unusual but I have to agree with you. Calais migrants are mainly men, Ukrainian are mainly women and kids.
That being said I also have compassion for Calais one.
Don't think it's an easy life to spend months crossing countries in boats, truck trailers or walking across the Alps to end in a junkyard camp. They must be quite desperate to do that.

This really annoys me! It's a subject very close to my heart. Our homeless get no help and are looked upon as scum and many die on the streets while our government are welcoming immigrants with open arms, putting them up in hotels and giving them money and all the benefits going
You can hardly get a doctors appointment in some areas ffs!

Unfortunately you can't oppose homeless vs migrants.
Sure more can be done, and in most of case private associations make thousand time more for homeless/migrants than governments.
Lots of homeless refuses to go into night home. Lots of them have psy issues (depression, etc..) it makes it even more difficult to handle.
(I'm volunteer in a social association, I'm not talking lightly)
