Left hand drill bit and once you've got a hole started, a stud extractor - Machine Mart sell them. You can also try mixing up your own ease-oil - a mixture of auto transmission fluid and acetone (the wife's nail polish remover). Brake fluid and acetone apparently also works, but brake fluid ain't exactly compatible with painted finishes.
I have heard it said that Coca-Cola is a good penetrating fluid. I kid you not, though I've not tried it myself.
Sometimes you really do begin to wonder just what you are eating/drinking! Doesn't stop me doing it, though!!
What still eating Plactiscene, I stopped doing that when I left infant school, or is it some sort of delicacy in East Yorkshire.
well after trying various things last night with no luck i decided to take it to a mate who has welding gear, once he had welded a bolt on, out it came ! ..think someone at Triumph had been getting carried away with the loctite! Thanks for all the suggestions
yeah i think you're right Peter..hopefully the rest of the bolts are OK and that it was just the apprentices job to fit the bolts on the seat latch!
A ha, Loctite. Heat gun is great for releasing it. However no good if there are plastic parts near by or paint that will damage.
Hoorah! things like this real pee you off and have a nasty habit of sticking with you for a while when you do other spanner jobs. Next time remember Plus-Gas first, spanner second.
They are completely different products Peter. Both good in their own way, but Plus-Gas is the one to use when wanting to shift stuck fixings. WD-40 is a Water Dispersant which means it chases water away, it's not really conceived as a lubricant at all.
