i don't think Jock is offensive, but like Gary says like any name it all depends on the context. i remember for example when it was fine to use the word Paki the Pakistanis didn't mind it (i know some who still call themselves Pakis), i wouldn't be surprised if the PC brigade start saying Jock is offensive:(

i think a lot of words that are considered offensive are only considered offensive because we have been told by the PC brigade..we get brainwashed into thinking the names are wrong, i must be honest I've never seen anything sprayed on walls in Scotland about any race, maybe that's more about immigration in England rather than anyone being racist?

Not offensive, but not a term I particularly like. It does irk me when used, but I would never play the racist card, again cos it is not generally meant to offend, like the use of the term paki, or going for an Indian, etc.

I was a lot more anti-English living in England, just due to the 'banter' that was perceived as such, but was verging on racial abuse.

When I see the old stereotype of drunken Scotsman (which I saw last year on the BBC), I do feel offended, especially where it is no longer allowed to even think the word paki or n*gger on the BBC (I '*' the N word as it is very much meant to offend, even if NWA call themselves that, etc).

It could be considered that. I don't think it is.
It's about a specific period in Scotlands/Englands history.
It's there to instill pride in Scots.
I also think the Corries did put in to be contentious. I remember years ago they were being interviewed and something of that ilk was said.
Interesting if any one can explain how it's racist.

Result aside, Wales v eng, a very compelling game, loved it!
Defence on both sides was phenomenal, probably too good, makes an attacking game very difficult.
An observation: England are probably the most hated team in the world, I have Scottish friends and associates that would support a team that had raped their sisters and wives over supporting England even when they're crap so I think that shows a lot for how countries fear them, inadvertanly showing loads of respect.

@Dozers Dad your too generous, you save your money for buying JD Honey for kielder.
I told you had peaked too early, as you say, at least we won one game this time!!
I remember a couple of years ago no winning a game at all, so one is OK. :D
