No need for a kit or removing the tank or airport. Simply unbolt the airtubes & replace with two 12 x 1.25 sump plugs from any automotive shop & a plug to stick in the airbox hole 10 mins tops. Leave the pump & solonoid in place

I just unscrewed the two air injection tubes & replaced them with two $3 12 x 1.25mm sump plugs from local auto parts store & a plastic plug from hardware store. Leave the air pump & soloniod as is. Didnt even remove tank or seat. Total cost $6 & 5 mins work!

    oooh my 1st post.

Bought a 2012 Thruxton 900 recently. And realized the SAI has been removed by previous owner. Any idea if it affects fuel consumption?

Shouldn't really affect fuel consumption in my opinion, it's all about diluting the exhaust to give less concentrated emissions.

Think, adding water to dilute orange concentrate....... same amount of orange but now looks less by volume .... umm : unamused:

In my experience, no. Did SAI removal on my Bonneville, fitted a pair of Togas and installed the TORS map. If anything it might have made it slightly better.

I have a question for you all. I've been looking on line at the schematic of the Thruxton. One of the pipes front the throttle body on the throttle side of the bike had a split in it. I tried to remove it but it broke up getting it off. I've repaired it for now but was thinking of replacing it. But if it's part of the air system the I won't bother because I will most likely delete the system. The pipe in question is about 6mm with a 3mm internal diameter and it in a u bend shape and non bendy. I cat really give anymore info because as I say, I can't find it on the diagrams. It comes from the tank and into the top of the throttle body stack. Any information would be appreciated. I'm thinking it a vacuum hose.
