I dropped the bike off at the dealer on Wednesday.

Conclusion was a significantly warped offside disc. No evidence of damage or any idea on what could have caused a mid-ride issue of that magnitude or immediacy; so still puzzling.

Both front discs have been replaced as a good will gesture (bike was 2 years old in June).

I’ll pick it up tomorrow and have a think about what to do next!

That's good news. We're the pads binding at all?

No they weren't, the disc wasn't even hot when checked after the brakes failed.

Accepted wisdom is that discs warp due to over heating or heavy impact, neither of which applied.

    I'm still puzzled!

I just wonder if the old pads were sticking even with pins removed and got levered out.......without realising the damage done. Goodwill is rare these days!
