It’s all over Wave 105 & local news on telly this morning that bikers caught on leisure rides will be dealt with. They seem to have concentrated on bikes even though cars were clearly caught out as well?

Even though I don’t think that’s the case here, I’m leaving my bikes in the garage. They both needed a run out after the winter hibernation but now they’ve had them, I’m happy to leave them alone for now.

I get the whole lock down and support it. What i don’t get is that it’s ok for a fat middle aged man in Lycra on a ten grand Bradley Miggins Carbon fibre special to be allowed to take his bike off and dawdle around the block to qualify as “essential exercise”. I get more of a sweat on 2 mins alone with my left hand !!!!

Well this one is on course to rival the ducks disagree post
I must add I've never seen so many people "exercising" on push bikes, walking, running, walking dogs in my life I think it might be self righteous pricks doing what they want
Maybe I'll get the bike out and push it up and down the road that seems acceptable

I’m in the key worker class
So I’m using my bike to get to work, at least I get there feeling happy. 20 plus miles each way, not the best roads to use a bike on but weather is dry and I’ve done 7days without getting wet

I’m a car owner and obvs a bike owner. Tomorrow I’ve gotta go from Exeter over Dartmoor to just inside the Cornish border to help my vulnerable elderly Father. I’ll defo be taking the bike but I expect to be stopped and frankly hope I am. I’d obvs rather not need to visit him but he’s isolated, can’t drive and only has solid fuel to heat his house. Once a week I go in and clear out fires and Rayburn and bring enough fuel inside his house to keep him going. The bike bit I’m defo looking forward too!

Has anyone definitely confirmed it 100% that you can’t ride your motorbike just for pleasure. It’s really not that clear if it’s allowed or not.
I have family asking, but I’m not sure

As far as I understand it Nikki, you cannot use your motorcycle or car for just pleasure, only essential journeys or essential work trips.

Not sure it’s the same here, but I’ve grounded myself now anyway. Only go out to the shops and that’s all, and I don’t even need to do that for a couple of weeks

I did a 40mile round trip on the bike this morning, went the scenic route to where I’ve been working to pick up tradesmen tools I’ve not managed to get, called in at three supermarkets for fresh bread as all didn’t bake any then the farm shop for delicious hot pies, it’s a real shame they all weren’t closer!! ;)

Before riding a bike during lockdown (even for authorized movement), there is a new parameter to consider. In some countries, the health services are already severely overloaded with the covid and it's not the best moment to fall from a bike.
I used my bike it at the beginning of the lockdown, now I decided not to.

Riding ya motorcycle is definitely exercising yourself more than driving a car would.
    Ken.
PS. I can see, and understand, that if we could use a motorcycle to exercise, some would use the privilege to ride as they normally would.

Guys if you are UK based and desperate to ride your bike, volunteer for NHS transport duties, you could perhaps make urgent deliveries to someone in more need than yourself....

I am awaiting the vetting process as after being laid off from work i have nothing better to fill my time until i can find some work.
