You do realise this foreign aid isn't actual money we send??? We don't go on Paypal and mark it as friends and foreign governments. Most of the money is back-handers to the Indian Government to buy the stuff we sell to them. Scenario - BAE systems/Vickers/ whoever want to sell the Indian government say, 10 challenger tanks(£50m each). Vickers representative goes along to our government via some ex PM (this is why ex-PM's get 2 day a year jobs at £60k) and ask for a contribution towards the bill, so we can sell at £400m instead of full price of £500m for the 10 tanks. This £100m is classed as foreign aid ! It's just a way to support British industry abroad. Unfortunately this is done a bit back-handed, so the government can't come out and admit to it! This applies to large constructions, gas pipelines , etc, not just weapons. I was told this by someone supposedly in the know, but am pretty sure it goes on quite frequently.

While I'm up for a bit of banter and non pc interaction, hijacking every post with inane, non related stuff is really starting to get a bit much. I get that sometimes posts will go off topic and that is what it is but there seems to be almost a deliberate attempt to take every post off topic at the moment and it just means having to scroll through loads of rubbish just to find the relevant bits. I see your mistake. You were thinking that this was a forum related to Triumph Motorcycles. TBH, if we solely talked about bikes, this would be one boring forum. For this we have Callumity, he'll happily give you all the information you require. And the rest of us will wait until said information is made available, then produce massive amounts of piffle and drivel. I do believe any request for help or info is answered, most of the time. But if the newbie threads were just 3 pages of hello from the best biking forum, it would get very tedious, very quickly. As Heid Bummer around these parts, I take sole responsibility for the crap spouted by the inmates, I like to think of it as care in the community. If these eejits weren't in here, they would be out in public, bothering normal people.
