I Agree that resources will dwindle, especially the way we are wasting them, but I'm not sure killing 55mil indigenous Americans or genocide in Australia had anything to do with protectionism or a fight for resources. Greed for more power and wealth and ever growing empire.
If what you say is right, then the middle east and africa will do to us what we did to America and Australia. Karma is a bitch right?

Oh it won't be the Middle East or Africa who would take over, not a chance of it they simply don't have the power base or cohesion @PeteZ . It would be the Chinese and it would be genocide on a scale that the world had never seen and Africa would most likely be enslaved as a manufacturing base for mineral wealth while the West and the Indian subcontinent would be enslaved for manufacturing. The Chinese don't have any fears of being called Racist, or upsetting Liberals or even offending God they are the ultimate cold, hard evolutionary machine.

That is, of course, if God wasn't about to step in and unleash the Four horsemen to ride at the head of the Army of Light in just over two years time. :)

Except that ‘celt’ seems to have been an invented word introduced into English some time in the early 18C. Most pre-Roman history in these islands comes from the archaeological record and the odd place name. It is no accident Wales is The Land of the Gauls in French just as the Gauls weren’t Franks and the Normans weren’t French. Immigration is as old as tribalism.

Immigration is as old as tribalism as you say but, never in the history of the planet has there been population densities as there are now or migrations. Yes I know that Celts isn't the original name of the indigenous people of this land although I do believe that the oldest reference to the people of Briton is actually Roman references to an account of the voyages of a Greek called Pytheas in the fourth century who supposedly called the islands Brettania with the biggest island, mainland Britain, being referred to as Albion. I do have to say that a lot of recent DNA research has pointed to the people of Britain being far more 'indigenous' than a lot of people have been led to believe. The Angles, Saxons, Romans and Normans may have ruled but they don't seem to have actually stamped out the native population by a long shot. My own DNA is almost entirely indigenous as is my wife's. I have about 1% Scandinavian/North European DNA and 1% German/French but the rest is native British with most of it from Nairnshire, Ireland and Ayrshire probably to about the time of the last Ice Age when the land was first populated or re-populated.

Just a thought here but wouldn't it be funny if the Gaelic slogan ( 'Slogan' has it's origins in the Gaelic from Sluagh Gairm or 'People's shout' or 'Warcry') "Alba Gu Brath" which is taken to mean "Scotland Forever" was re-interpreted to mean "Albion Forever" or, to modernise it, "Britain Forever!".

Another tidbit of Gaelic used in English here for you is 'Smashing' used to mean good as in 'Super, Smashing, Great!' this comes from the Gaelic 'S Math Sin (pronounced ismashin') which means 'That is Good' in Gaelic.

Yup that does not surprise me. China has also been carrying out a huge infra-structure project making new roads into Pakistan. Supposedly for the purposes of trade and manufacturing interests but, of course it would make it a lot easier for China to flood Pakistan with it's military machinery and then, of course, in recent years they have become very interested in Mineral mining in Africa. I was idly watching a program a few weeks ago that featured an American gold prospecting team in Africa and, all of a sudden these big excavators came charging through the undergrowth surrounded by armed Chinese and forced them off their claim that they had been granted by the local authorities. The message was clear that the Chinese mining outfits didn't care what permissions the African authorities issued, they were going to take what they wanted and by force of arms if necessary and the government of the country wouldn't or couldn't stop them.

    Agree 100% with that.

Growing up in 70s/80s listening to punk rock and expecting nuclear war was imminent, our slogan was 'Party in the ruins!'

And 40 years later, me and me old chums have readopted it :)

Ridiculous price but I guess that some folks with more money than they need feel they absolutely need this old jacket.

First ride out with friends in 5 years yesterday.
Saw at least 3 instances of overtakes by bikers that were inches away from causing an accident and killing or seriously injuring themsleves or others.
The worst was somebody on what looked like an old 250 that overtook a motorhome on a blind left hand bend and missed being flattened by a Land
Rover coming the other way by millimeters. Insane! I don't care how frustrated you get sat behind another vehicle, know your bike, plan your overtake and WAIT until it is safe!
