Not sure if this has been posted before, but here you go?

Here is something you are unlikely to learn via the BBC or Those pushing the Black lives Matter agenda

In the 17th century the seas around Britain were ruled by North African muslim slavers. The slavers stopped British ships and carried off the crews to be sold as slaves in Algiers and Tripoli. The situation became so bad that fishermen from Devon and Cornwall wouldn’t put out to sea in case they were captured by these North African Slave Traders.

Between 1609 and 1616, 466 British ships were captured by Slave Traders in the English Channel, Irish Sea and North Atlantic, and the crews were sold into slavery.

In 1625 a raiding party landed at Mount’s Bay in Cornwall and 60 people who had taken refuge in a local church were dragged out, loaded up and taken off to Africa to be sold as slaves.

On 12 August 1625 the Mayor of Plymouth wrote to London for military help after 27 ships had been seized by North African Muslim Slave Traders in just 10 days.

In 1645, 240 people were seized as slaves in Cornwall. The situation only began to change after the end of the English Civil War when the Royal Navy was built up under Oliver Cromwell.

By 1700, North African Slavers generally knew better than to bother the British Isles in the search for slaves because of the Royal Navy. It was a triumph that Britain was finally able to control its own coastal waters.

And it was in commemoration of this that in 1740, James Thompson wrote ‘Rule Britannia’. It is a hymn of thanksgiving rather than a proclamation of aggressive Nationalism.

These facts are taken from the book 'White Gold' by Giles Milton. The book of course, explains the line in the song Rule Britannia stating "Britons never never never shall be slaves”. The 1740 song is mostly embraced by the Royal Navy.

So much for the BBC and the Left wanting to erase it from the Proms because they claim it celebrates British slavery of blacks - absolute rubbish.

That’s very interesting and something I didn’t know, turns a lot of the current thinking on slavery on its head
So did a bit of looking around and found this article on the (ahem) BBC website which adds to story
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/history/british/empire_seapower/white_slaves_01.shtml
Starting to make claims of WhiteWashing history a little ridiculous

I genuinely believe that most people in this country are not racist. There are still a few white scum who deserve to be shot but guess there always will be. And the majority of immigrants, I'm sure, are hard working and beneficial to society. To me, the whole immigration argument boils down into two factors (a) the effects due to numbers on infrastructure and (b) effects on culture.

A few examples why I think immigration may have become such a hot potato:-

    (a)

Elderly waiting for ages in a queue whilst the surgery tries to find a translator/translates.
The cost of translators in hospitals.
    Not enough social housing vacancies
Not enough school places leading to an anxiety ridden scrabble trying to get children into local, good school.
The cost of translators in schools
Not enough hospital beds for the numbers we already have.
Not enough police to deal with (i) increased crime rates (ii) increased traffic offences (iii) crime rates in general.
    Not enough parking places
    Overcrowded roads

    (b)

School children subjected to lewd behaviour and drug culture.
School children subjected to knife culture.
Driving standards and driving on drugs
    Spitting in the street
    Dealing on the street
    Gun/Knife carrying
People pulling the race card to excuse criminal/bad behaviour
    No go areas in cities
Over representation by percentage of minorities on national TV.
Feeling of insecurity by wives/girlfriends when walking past groups of scruffy, idle eastern europeans
Walking into town and not hearing one English voice in one hour of walking - everybody but everybody is foreign.

If that makes me a racist, so be it. But I can tell you this - not one of these points was a large area of concern in my youth - so, what has changed? It used to be such a gentle, pleasant place. And did anybody want this change and the rate of change? I love some aspects of foreign culture - I try to learn the languages, enjoy the food and like to study their countries. But our country is losing/has lost it's identity.

As mooted in the past before you can have a rational discussion, the powers that be have to decide how many people the current infrastructure can reasonably support and then hold the population to that level. If they wish to increase the population, then they should plan for infrastructure enlargement and put that question to the people declaring figures for spend and total population projection. I mean, what is the limit of population in this country - 70 million - 80 million? Who, in their right mind, would wish to live on this small polluted island with that many people? The logical conclusion of those who argue against immigration control is that an unlimited number should/can come - which, besides being unsustainable is a recipe for anarchy - I feel we are already very close to that cliff.

So, in the end, it boils down to world population and economics. Although we have made mistakes in the past we cannot by way of apology house the rest of the world's population. The population in 1950 was 50M, is currently circa 68M and is projected to be 75M by 2050. In that time, I haven't seen the quality of life improve. Neither do I believe the economic gurus horseshit that we need population growth to pay for the elderly pensions. We just need to live in a quiet, clean and respectful place in harmony with an adequate income whether we be of immigrant stock or indigenous folk. None of us deserves to live in the rat race that living here has become. The powers that be need to exercise the powers that be before this situation gets out of hand.

I guess it comes down to either accepting what the country is becoming or making a move - still working on that.............(I know I will get suggestions).........

The Barbary Pirates took slaves from England for over 300 years, and up to 1.25 million Europeans were taken as slaves, I know this number is a fraction of the slaves that were taken from Africa to America, but worth bearing in mind that Europeans were being taken as slaves by Africans before Africans were taken by Europeans (excluding the Romans who enslaved everyone).

I keep getting asked to become a Knight Templar but I keep refusing because all they offer is a bleeding 'Authentic Crusader sword' and 'Authentic warhammer'. I doubt they will be much use in the host of The Lord during the coming Apocalypse with such old fashioned weaponry. I wouldn't join anyway as Saint Michael (Commander of the Lord's Host) has already promised me command of a section of the Triumphant Cavalry when the day comes.

18 years ago I inherited some HH series USA savings bonds.in my name. I tried to cash them in June 1. But they had to be sent to the US Treasury Department which my bank assisted with all the paperwork, because they couldn't cash them like normal bonds. Never heard from US Treasury Department about when I would receive the money due to the virus they were shut down and working from home mostly. Finally got paid the original purchase price for them without a correspondence of any kind. So I asked about the 18 years of accumulated interest by email. They said oh yeah we've sent your the inflation indexed interest payments every 6 months to your account, HUH??? to where I asked they gave me the bank name and account number. THATS NOT MY FUCKING ACCOUNT!!! And where the hell did you get that from???

    Very interesting fact indeed.
But let's see where the perspective on slavery issue maybe coming from...

Britain was the most dominant between 1640 and 1807 when the British slave trade was abolished. It is estimated that Britain transported 3.1 million Africans (of whom 2.7 million arrived) to the British colonies in the Caribbean, North and South America and to other countries.

    Uhh, there we go..
    And that's just the British.

Between 1525 and 1866, in the entire history of the slave trade to the New World, according to the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade Database, 12.5 million Africans were shipped to the New World. 10.7 million survived the dreaded Middle Passage, disembarking in North America, the Caribbean and South America.

Once again I do agree that political correctness is way out of hands but we do need to see things in perspective.
A lot of this stuff has happened long time ago but should not be forgotten.

But that is not what I said. I'm trying to get to why some of the racial tension is still here. It's not about being guilty.
Everyone here is so proud of our ancestors fighting the wars and all that, imagine for a moment that your ancestors were slaves and half of the world economy was build their blood, sweat and death for generations and yet even now some look at them as if they were less humans than others.
20 Years ago I was in South Carolina, there were shop owners who were complaining that few years back they had to take down a sign from their shop window that said no dogs and blacks.
I'm not pointing fingers and saying who or what is racist, but I do understand where is it coming from, as I'm white and even so I had my share of immigrants comments in last 20 years so I gently begin to imagine what it may be like when coupled with the wrong color of the skin.
Unfortunately for BLM what started as a decent idea has been overshadowed by a lot of opportunistic idiots who went looting and destroying property for no freaking reason.
Racism is very real and just like the immigration, it has to be dealt with globally with good education and what ever else it takes to get rid of it.

I have never said we were perfect and knowing my own lot, I'm actually not surprised at all. Some peeps in Czech would rather have their knee cap drilled than to pay a penny more than they have to. And there is fair few Nazis there too as well as a huge wave of Muslim haters (even though we had zero Muslim migrants, plenty of people are absolutely certain they are coming in their thousands to impose Sharia law and kill and rape) Thanks media, well done...
UK, Czech or Finland, racist is still a racist ..

The problem with racism, or rather, protectionism is that it is an inherent survival and evolutionary trait amongst humans. We seek to protect our own gene pool, live long and prosper and that means fighting off the competition or using them to your advantage. As population grows and resources dwindle it will only get worse and it will be literally back to being survival of the fittest as competition becomes ever tougher, especially when Western birth rates continue to fall and we are ever more outnumbered by people from other places seeking more resources. From what little we know, the Celts weren't too bothered by the Angles and Saxons arriving on British shores as there was lots of land and resources to go around but then the Angles and Saxons came to outnumber the locals and, before they knew it it was the Celts who were being pushed aside and put down by their new overlords. This is what is feared not the colour of anyone's skin. I have no doubt that we are witnessing the fall of Western civilisation and it is following the same pattern as the fall of the Roman Empire, the Egyptian Empire, the Greek Empire etc. etc. and I don't believe there is now a damn thing anyone can do about it. Bring on the end of the world and let's get it over with!

It's difficult to argue with that, especially going down like every other empire that has turned it's back on God. I wouldn't want to hasten it, it'll come soon enough, but it's great to be prepared for the next life!
