Yes, she is a smart lady, and the main stream news media could learn a lot from her also... like reporting the facts, instead of stoking the fire, which has already cost lives.

She is a very brave young woman to speak out. The facts about this guy will never be reported in the mainstream press. I do think that when the court hears this the police officers are likely to get off with their crime.........

According to Mail Online - not a leftist outlet - "Owens, 31, is the communications director for Turning Points USA, a conservative youth organization." In other words, she's an established right wing political activist. It doesn't matter in the slightest if Floyd had a criminal record: there was no justification for killing him. If our UK cops want to arrest somebody, they seem to manage to put handcuffs on them easily enough without kneeling on their necks for 9 minutes.

Yes she is a conservative (republican), and she herself said there is no justification for the killing of Floyd, and that those responsible should face justice.

Is there anything that she said that is not correct?

And when she is stating facts, why is her political allegence relavant?

She doesn't say that him having a criminal record is justification for killing him.
You are trying to give people a false impression of what she said. You would make a good politician, giving a slanted cock eyed view while trying to mislead people.

Whilst you maybe able to put his past criminal activities to one side in respect to his recent activities, the key fact that I hadn't seen presented in the press was that he was high on drugs at the time of his arrest (it maybe there I just have not seen it). He would have been very difficult to control in this state. The fact that he died during being restrained obviously is tragic and the individuals involved will be dealt with in the courts. This is a very sad story that seems to have generated a huge global response which hopefully will make a difference. But presenting this guy as an upstanding individual imo is wrong.

Yep it does seem a little strange if it is in fact a procedure that is taught as part of the polices restraint technique.

She doesn't fit the mainstream media narrative this side of the water, especially the BBC and Sky so she will never get airtime. You would love to see a Piers Morgan interview with her, she would eat him up and spit him out.

Popped my head out of my arse for 5 mins to look at the protests in UK over George Floyd death.

obviously the lockdown has got people bored and restless! This has been seen as a focal point to relieve some stress.

but the violence and disregard for human and animal welfare has lost my sympathies. It’s a shame that George Floyd died under the circumstances that he did... the policeman should be held fully accountable! But to think that throwing bicycles into a line of British horse police is going change racism in America (or anywhere else) is farcical!

Protest if you must (there’s lots of ways to protest- try not purchasing American goods like iPhones or McDonald’s, flood Trumps twitter feed with “blackface / whiteface” pictures etc) but resorting to reckless endangerment of humans and animal life ... you loose all moral high ground.

    Edit...

And to any British person who doesn’t feel that Black lives matter... take another close look at the NHS who have worked so hard to pull us through this health crisis. I’ve had the pleasure of working with pretty much all creeds and colours, and whilst it’s not perfect (what is?) we are generally just a great team of people working together to try to improve the health of our patients who are of all creeds and colour.

The only people I have any sympathy for are George Floyd's family, sympathy for the fact he died in these circumstances, and sympathy that he was a persistant criminal.

As I've said before, the officers involved should face justice for murder or manslaughter. However there is no evidence that his death was racially motivated (unless I've missed something ) and the numbers that I've seen show that the racial narrative of more black men being killed in police custody is false.

The violence being committed in the UK, and the extreme violence in US, is totally inexcusable IMO. I also have sympathy for those affected by that violence, like the police offer who was shot dead in the US, and the many totally innocent victims that have been severely attacked and beaten, for no reason other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

My own opinion is that this situation has been hijacked for political means that are for a totally different agenda, and not for bringing an end to racism.

The main stream media are gorging on this, whilst ignoring both the harm that has already been done, and the harm their support and their amplification of the problem will potentially cause in the future.

You are spot on @DCS222 on all accounts all lives matter and it is forgotten how much is contributed to this nation from ethnic minority's especially the NHS and the Forces yet they do not have the backup from government bodies when in need

You can't go blaming Emily Ducky, it wasn't her fault it was the snowflakes of the day who gave in too easy. If they'd have put proper heavy chains round their necks and chained them to the kitchen sinks proper, they wouldn't have been able to get off the floor, never mind go marchin ont'streets. No wonder we lost the Empire.

As for your Missus Ducky your're just going to do what the rest of us have had to do I'm afraid.
It sounds harsh, but it's got to be done.
You look her right in the eyes and say
"look, I'm the man of the house and I'm in charge here,
what I say goes, you understand ? Good.
Now, fetch me tea and biscuits"

We've all had to do it mate, it's harsh, but it works, honest.

    Yeah, right...
I tried that method last year. The physiotherapist says I should be able to walk again soon.
