Profits! - Greedy bastids, both those buying huge quantities and those selling allowing it.

Just got back from 2 supermarkets and not a loo roll or any sort of tissue available. They need to start properly rationing these essentials because if this is going to go on for months it’s going to be even more of a nightmare than it already is.

I was at Aldi when they opened this morning
No restock of toilet roll, pasta, rice, tins, soap or paracetamol (plenty of Neurofen)

So there wasn't anything for people to bulk buy! Purely a case of no supply

We've got a Butlins here, I don't agree with it even being open at the moment but they have 5000 self caterers in there. This morning they were queuing outside all our supermarkets waiting for them to open and then clearing the shelves within an hour. Apparently they're stocking up with all this stuff to take home with them leaving nothing for the locals

My mate just told me he went to the chemist to get a bottle of Calpol for his littlun. A 200ml bottle. £19.99! Three times the usual price.

And, dog food... We get through 4 tins a day, live 40 miles from the shops, so buy 28 tins.

Or we would... Only allowed to buy 3! How do I feed them now I wonder, not like we have a huge stock of food at home.
So, am I supposed to drive 80 miles a day, visit three supermarkets in the hope they actually have dog food, and buy three tins in each? Every day.....?

    For fechs sake!

It only takes that minority of the sheeple to panic, and the rest of the sheeple follow straight on.

Tell you what @Duckadiledundee I don't have any matches, but I do have a flint and steel....

My wife was telling me about a bloke in her office who was bragging about having 90 loo rolls stashed at home. Tw@t!
After she’d said about not being able to buy any he’d said that he’d sell her some for £1 a roll.
Suffice to say she was much more polite in her response than I would have been.

This is like black marketing . During the Second World War those people were jailed when caught. The same should happen here.
It’s the same when ticket touts are able to purchase large numbers of tickets to a concert or a sports venue, then hike up the prices. The poor loyal fans can’t get hold of the tickets and or can’t afford the hugely inflated prices. It’s all very annoying and unfair. Shops doing this during the current crisis should be avoided and named and shamed.

The proffiteers and hoarders can be indentifyed especially if they used a shoppers card or credit card, just sort it and spit it out of the database for the government.

My local post office, it’s a small one and sells some groceries etc, had a pile of loo rolls that he was selling at a higher price than normal. I went to the counter and told him next time he had a petition to sign to save his post office he’d just lost a signature!

    Lazy Dealerships - RANT

So disclaimer - I'm only into my third year of biking and on my second new Triumph, first was a Street Twin now a Scrambler 1200.

As a fat B it's clear to see I'm not the A typical rider, and one element of riding which makes the experience better and safer is to have the suspension set to your weight.

Despite my bike having all of the adjustments you need the dealer didn't bother to set the bike up for me. In fact the settings were all out as clearly some browsing customer had twiddled the knobs.

On collection I asked can the rider sag be set front and rear please, to be greeted with blank faces, hop on Mr Repooh the service manager said, yeh that looks okay. Now I'm no scientist but a cursory glance is not sufficient.

Fast forward and I have set up my suspension, adding in almost all of the adjustment the bike offers, pre-load, compression rebound (acknowledge the last two are rider preference) and no shit Sherlock the ride is 100% better than it was on leaving the dealership, cornering, comfort every part is better.

So Triumph if you're listening, when we pay for a premium brand, pay for premium service and support you may want to demand your dealerships act like premium dealers and spend 10 minutes setting a customers new bike up, not pissing around on the bloody TFT themes, gushing over a pannier but actually things which will make us love your products more.

As for this particular dealership, well I should have known when they installed the handlebar top clamp upside down, told me the seat was a low seat when it clearly was not, installed a fly screen and only managed to get two of the four fixing to mate and a few other school boy errors, premium in your dreams Triumph.

    And relax

I'll be honest with you Repooh, I don't think any dealer will set loaded sag for you, that is something they just don't do, I guess in these days of litigation etc, the manual probably warns against adjusting the spring preload.
However part of the PDI should be to check that all the adjusters are set to 'standard' settings, if you then choose to adjust then this is down to you. Given the feckups with fitting the other bits, I would say you had a lucky escape, there's a lot to be said for the "if you want a job done properly, do it yourself". ;)

I'll better that deal. I'll do 4 for £5 but I'll offer credit.
100% down and nothing to pay for 18 months.
