Well I got fed up of being a fat b'stard so I quietly had a kiloortwoectomy a few years ago but kept it quiet. Unfortunately I can't get rid of that "seven months pregnant look".

And now for something completely different! Here's my rant and seeing as I'm definitely in the gender minority on this forum, many of you may struggle to grasp the gravity of this rant. ;) :joy::joy:

I was somehow pulled into the vortex of the T.J. Maxx women's shoe section earlier today on my way home from getting an MRI. Maybe that MRI machine fecked with my brain waves or maybe my female "shoe gene" flipped on. Anyway, before I knew it I had purchased six pair of shoes, a purse (handbag?), and two sweaters (jumpers?).

The rant in my rant post is this. Don't you just hate it when you have to spend money on all those non-fun everyday things all the time like groceries and the electric bill and MRI co-pays and taxes? I mean geez! Who wants to work their ass off to buy toilet paper? :p Or shoes. Ok, well, maybe not the shoes. Or the purse or the sweaters. ;) What I really want to spend money on these days is motorcycles related things. My brain seem to think in "motorcycle currency" nowadays. Today was a case in point. On the way home with my bags of shoes, sweaters, and purse I found myself thinking--"Hmm, what I just spent would have gotten me that new set of tires for my Triumph or a new helmet or that Vance & Hines FP3 tuner for my Dyna." Geez, thank goodness I came out of retirement this past August.

So my rant is....well, I'm not exactly sure. Our consumer culture? That I'm a woman and seem to have a shoe "gene" and itch that must be scratched? That I have to pay taxes? Ha! Well, there's a good rant in there somewhere.

Yeah DCS, six pair at one time is a new record even for me. I think it was a product of denying myself for so long. :joy::joy::joy: But now I need to choose six pair to give to a friend or to donate.

I'm on the replacement regime for "stuff". Stuff in---stuff out. It applies to my motorcycles, too. I have three and that's my limit. No more room at the inn. So if a new one comes in, an old(er) one goes out.

    Fondly,
    ~Imelda

Yes, andypandy, I do know what it's all about. As do women everywhere. :) All shoes are different even within a category like sandals. Or boots. Or pumps. Or flats. Or sneakers. Then within those shoe sub-categories are particular styles and colors and materials. Need I go on? ;) And particular shoes fulfill a particular purpose. Waterproof riding boot style boots for a wintry and wet day, Open toed pumps for a professional and polished summer look at the office. Oh my, the possibilities are endless! :grinning: And a woman doesn't necessarily keep shoes until they are totally worn out since style and fashion changes occur. Plus sometimes you just need a "reboot" (no pun intended) and a refresh on the choices in the closet.

A girlfriend's husband once asked me how many pair of black shoes a woman needed anyway. What a silly question. It was certainly beyond his understanding! :p

Mr. Sandi does go along--figuratively and often literally--with my shopping expeditions. Sometimes he even encourages them if I've gone through a shopping dry spell. His ex-wife (BS Wife--Before Sandi) owned a women's clothing boutique so he's very knowledgable about fashion. Quite handy for me! ;) Besides, we spend our own money on such things so that changes the dynamic.

If Mr.Sandi dropped me off at a motorbike shop on his way to go shopping, I'd be likely to spend more money there than at a shoe or clothing store these days! Like I said in my first rant post on this topic, on my way home from my shopping spree yesterday, in my head I was running through the motorcycle related purchases I could have made with what I spent on the shoes, sweaters, and purse.

But I've already worn two pair of the shoes and one of the sweaters I purchased just over 24 hours ago. I wore one pair right when I got home to go for dinner with Mr. Sandi and then I wore another pair today for work along with one of the sweaters I purchased. I'm thinking I made some wise consumer decisions. Plus I did the math--I averaged the cost per pair of the shoe purchases and it came out to only $36 per pair! I am (usually) a thrifty shopper and love a good bargain. It's my form of "treasure hunting".

I can’t even watch it anymore. They’re all so far up their own arses it isn’t true. In fact there’s so much crap on the TV I hardly watch it at all. I put it on to catch the evening news and then switch off.

I read Sandi T's HD museum visit thread and as many of us do followed up on some of the links.
General Mitchell i had heard of him proving naval air requirements by bombing captured ships before but the quote i put below I just cannot let go of, it does the colonies no favours and once again highlights the sloppy approach to history that doesnt fit their narrative....
"In 1916, when Europe was on the verge of the first World War, Mitchell recognized the increasing importance of aviation in war and took it upon himself to learn to fly at his own expense."

On the verge, on the verge!

You may be right as I can't believe that any of these fuckwits are our latest batch of rising stars in the business world, but it certainly appeared that none of them knew the year that WW2 started!
