Looks like a Medieval attempt at building a space shuttle.

I’m sure Ye olde Richard Branson, in his youth would have named it something witty - Virgin Rockery (Rocketry) is the best I could come up with. But then I’m not an idiot billionaire. I’m just an idiot.

There’s a big difference. One has private planes, islands and international recognition. The other is a peasant.

"One has private planes, islands and international recognition." Like Jeffrey Epstein, for example.

Hmmm, that's not what we call it around where I live, @Baza. We call the upper floor in a two story dwelling the 2nd floor. The bottom floor is typically called the 1st floor or sometimes the ground floor.

Love it, let's hope they survive the mindless vandals too common in our society. :)

Slow grey day in Cornwall so thought I'd revive the series of posts from our West Coast tour (been a few months since the last).
Some Oregon coastal wild life first... 2014-09-01_11-36-48.jpg

A local told us they were Blue Jays but it seems Steller's Jay is the proper name.

And then it was on to the Redwood NP, we did the usual touristy stuff, drive though trees etc. But just pulling off the road and wandering free in the forests really blow us away, the size and age of these trees is just staggering. 2014-09-01_16-26-39.jpg

The wife couldn't resist a bit of tree hugging on this young Redwood.....

When we're long gone in a few millennia it might just grow to this (if we don't destroy the planet in the mean time)

Wandering amongst the trees we came across some that had fallen, you get a real sense of just how tall these giants are.
I took this photo from near the root while Chris is standing at the other end, obviously still not the full height when it was standing as the trunk is still plenty wide enough to stand on.......
(if you click on the image and zoom you might see her)

Next and final instalment San Francisco......

Yes, the road to St. Mawes is high on my list of local runs (turn right at the water tower to St. Mawes Castle for the best view over the Fal estuary)

I just loved that park. King's canyon too, if a bit further away...

Great photos, @Col_C! I agree with you that those are Steller's Jays. We have them along our walking path here in Tucson, too. When we first noticed them Mr. Sandi did a bit of research and we learned that they were Steller's Jays. Looking forward to more photos of your West Coast tour.
