Ha! Same as me, I wouldn’t buy another Ducati again after the terrible service I got from riders in bridgewater, the bike was in and out of there for ages as well. The speed triple I had before that in 2011 never missed a beat
Hiya MrTriple As promised this part was fitted to stop the shifter switch catching. Please see attached. First pic is in neutral. second pic is engaging 1st gear.
Hiya Andy Triumph UK part, fitted by the dealer. after reading you post earlier it got me to thinking, how has your dealer delt with your problem? To me it sounds like they couldn't give a shit.
They are ok, but really not ONNIT if that makes sense. They don’t want to do anything differing than triumph say, I can see mine QS unit had been hitting the arm after your post so I’ve emailed them pics. I’ve told them to call Triumph and get the arm and a new quickshifter unit fitted ASAP, they are a hour away and trying to get them to collect my bike when they can do similar times to me is the trickiest bit. And they can’t give me another bike as they are all out
That's brilliant Pete - many thanks for posting up the details. The existence of a modified part is obviously proof there's a problem, so it's really valuable to anyone attempting to challenge any less than helpful dealers. Even though mine appears to be OK, I'll register a 'potential problem' with my dealer when it's in for service on Saturday - that way it will be on record for any future warranty (or out of warranty) claim.
Yes definitely do it, I think mine was the first to have that part fitted, just goes to show that the boys at my dealer are on it to try and get it sorted for me which I fully appreciate.
Andy I hope you get it sorted mate, I will post something on here when I get my new qs fitted on Saturday, I do hope that's the end of it. Hahaha
Had the same issue. Just took to the dealer for the second time and it’s finally fixed. Seemed to be part ecu error codes and partly due to the shifter position. The tech set it up lower so my foot really fits tightly.
As you probably know, repositioning the shifter did nothing for mine. It has been in the shop for a week now. I believe the quickshifter started all of the problems I’ve experienced so far. I’ll never use it again, regardless if I get a replacement bike or they repair mine. It’s just not worth it to me.
Dropped my bike to them last night and one of the salesmen was standing there and said “oh this is the bike with the QS problem and the single 3 into 1 exhaust which triumph recommends you don’t fit as it effects the fuelling and probably causes the quickshifter issue” Oh right I said, funny the exhaust causes the quickshifter issue when it had the same issue before I changed he exhaust. Nob edddd
I'm guessing that's after going from neutral to first? A pic engaging first from second gear, which is a longer movement, might be interesting...... Checked my QS, which is from early April 2018, no cut out on it, but I've had no problems either. Bike's being serviced today, I'll have a closer look to see if there's any marks to indicate contact when I get it back.
Pillock should stick to selling bikes and leave the tech stuff for those who know what they’re on about.
Hi Andy No I've only ridden it from the dealer to home on Saturday.... been working to hard this week to get out hahaha
Here's a couple of pics of my QS One showing the clearance on 2nd to first shift and one showing what is possibly a small mark on the shifter although I'm not convinced it's a contact mark..... QS was fitted on bike new in April 2018
This is so helpful - preventative measure being the key point for me I had a closer look at mine (also fitted March/April 2018) and I have a similar mark that I hadn't spotted before (made easier to identify by your pics, together with the general info in this thread that helps with what to look for). I'm going to ask for the modified part to be ordered when I go for service on Saturday - it will be interesting to see how the dealer reacts, given that I'm not experiencing issues. I don't use the QS that regularly, and then typically only between 1st and 3rd gears. so I can't help thinking that if I were a bit more feisty with QS usage, I'd be having the same gearbox issues as others are experiencing. It's certainly put a dampener on using it as it stands !
