Well me & the lad did the final bit of tinkering this morning. Front & rear brakes adjusted, carb cleaned out & adjusted again so it ticks over nicely & starts first kick. View attachment 2429 Then i let the lad loose with the Monster stickers..... View attachment 2430 View attachment 2431 View attachment 2432 View attachment 2433 I shall pop down the work shop in Park Royal next week to hopefully liberate a seat in better condition BUT its officially finished now! The lad is made up :upyeah: Its now time to get over the woods for some serious monkeying around!
Cheers jonny, it was never gonna be like brand new again but its clean, tidy & above all... safe! Its his first bike so its gonna get dropped & trashed but thats all part of the learning curve  Once he has mastered the art of balance, control & riding safely over the fields/woods then i will drop the 50cc lump out & fit a 90cc or 125cc with a clutch for him.
Cheers fellas! We went over the fields on it today, the lad did really well but needs to concentrate more & build his confidence. Had a few near misses but didnt drop it or crash so all is good. :upyeah:
Now has a brand new seat (slightly longer & butts right up to the tank) & a 90cc carb..... Chips along nicely! View attachment 2434
Made a few adjustments after the shake down & all is going. One happy little boy... View attachment 2435 View attachment 2436

These work spot-on. The lad looks like he has a natural skill. You must be a really proud great-grandfather!
They say "the apple never falls far from the tree" mate  He has taken to it very well, He is pretty skillful on his BMX so the monkey bike seemed a logical next step really. The video clip over the farmers field was the first time he has ridden it without me on the back helping him with the controls & talking him through everything. After the second video clip over the fields he got a bit over confident, started showing off & rode it straight into a thicket bush! Lol  He lost control, panicked & pinned the throttle back! Cheeky fucker! There is 30 years between us so i guess, theoretically i am old enough to be his grandfather but great-grandfather??? Having sad that i hope thats not the case as i have been making CSA payments to his mother for the past 10 years so she must owe me a fortune!
They don't work on my IPad now though... May have to get the laptop out.... Looking good though from pictures
