How about a different solution for the problem? Why not try a helmet suited to wearing glasses. My wife and me both wear glasses and we both use Shark helmets (I'm on my second), they have small removable parts that allow glasses to be easily fitted and removed. My wife wears glasses with fairly heavy legs and I use various thin metal leg types. Been using Shark helmets for around 6 years and neither of us have any problems wearing glasses with them.

All that said, when I get around to getting new specs that I'll use on the bike I'll take my helmet with me - just in case.

Could be expensive if you're buying new glasses and don't need a new helmet

I've been using the glasses with the flexi frames. They're nice and bendy so generally are good with helmets, unless it's really tight against the side of your head. The glasses will be fine, but is uncomfortable.

A bit late to the party but here is a different take that I'm just looking at, mainly for my open face helmet, but the glasses work ok with my full face helmet....

Bolle Tracker II Safety Glasses either with Clear, Smoke or Yellow Lens - £10 ish on ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=bolle+tracker&_sop=15)

Bolle RX Prescription Lens Insert - £10 ish
    http://www.thesafetysupplycompany.c...ker-ii-safety-spectacles---bo-sostracker.html

Visit lens maker (or http://www.ciliaryblue.com) and have prescription lenses made and fitted to insert - for me approx £30.

Result - prescription sunglasses with safety lens for both on and off bike for around £50.

All the above depends of course on your prescription and wether they can be fitted to insert.

My Shoei has the removable pads for cleaning. As they are secured with Velcro it is quite easy to reinstall the pads leaving room for the glasses arms. Sure whish I could just wear contacts but the lack of humidity in the desert makes them flash dry crunchy at any speed.

My Shark helmet Has a " easy fit glasses system" which involves some little removable pads about level where your glasses arms slide in, which definately make it easier to put on glasses. They just slide in rather trying to force them between your head and the cushioning inside the helmet. There is just a larger gap to allow your glasses to slide in.

I have also found though that having fairly staight arms on the glasses frame rather than curved over the ears also makes it much easier :)

I am currently 'running in' an HJC PRHA-ST which I bought recently - aka wandering/sitting around the house wearing the damn thing and looking like a right pillock:eek: - which is apparently designed to make wearing glasses easy and more comfortable. Seems to work.:) Well it does for me.:p
