Hulavingtonat the first Afghan Hero's ride/gathering, about 2010.
Huge airfield, now disused for regular flying, the gathering took over the field, Wooton Basset (now Royal) was the first place to honour our killed troops on their return to Britain, so it was fitting the air field nr by was used for the fund raising purpose.


Unfortunately the small group of serviceman's parents who ran it got caught out as the charity got too big for them to manage and thousands of £'s were un-accounted for, prosecutions followed.
All started with good intentions but as so many 'charities' it all went wrong, even questions being asked about Help the Hero's I hear too!

The owner had perchant for old/scrap aircraft.

No, I've not got a personal problem, that gap was full of bikes when I got the camera out, then a chap wanted to talk to me about the bike, by the time I'd got round to taking the picture they'd all ridden off!

 

Should you consider changing your name to Billy, as in "Billy no mates" lol.

 

View attachment 11762 Took a ride out over Dartmoor today, first proper run with all the latest mods finished. Bike was handling great,only marred by the discovery of a small oil leak!!

 

Looks great, interested to know how well the bar end mirrors work, thinking about changing from the standard but didn't want to end up with lots of vibration at the mirrors, obviously vision must be much improved.

 

The mirrors are great no vibration and the view is really good, really gives you confidence. They dot feel like they stick out too far, I have put flat tracker bars on which are narrower than std.

 

A short ride in rather cold weather to test my new bar end mirrors. Works great.

Pretty much how i am going to leave it now, scottoiler on rhs frame rail. Very pleased with it.

 

New to me Triumph Leather and Waxed Cotton Saddlebags fitted with the Togas.

 

Classic shot, but can you post one showing your bar end mirrors, as i'm thinking of changing mirrors.

I got these off ebay - cheap as chips but good quality for the money. (see link below)

They didn't vibrate at all and fitted the bike well - literally a few minutes to do the job. I used the existing hex-head screw which held the bar end weights in place as these screw into a plate welded into the bars. You can't use the expanding fitting which comes with the mirrors without removing this plate as it would be too deep.



I've actually gone back to my original mirrors for now as of yesterday - nothing wrong with the bar end ones but I found that they are a bit small, even though as a convex mirror the field of view is greater than the stock ones. I did find that you have to consciously look down at them - you may want to consider this when choosing your style of mirror.

 

Many thanx for quick reply & advice. Btw i'm still on stage 1 tune, as the sound so far is ok for me. Do you not suffer from excess popping due to 2nd wall removed, & if not does that mean you have taken SAI off?

 

No it doesn't sound much different to how it did when I just took the first wall out. I can hear it but it's not in anyway annoying. The SAI is still in place for now. My old T100 was noisier than this bike in terms of excess popping until I removed the SAI.
