Touch wood was perfect on Thursday night coming home from work....

Started her up, went for first and click.... not even the slightest jump into gear and nice and smooth changes on the way home....

The last thing is Monday morning test as it will have been sat since Thursday 10pm till Monday 5am

If that goes OK then here will be the first to know :D

Started the bike up Monday morning

Clutch out then back in, pressed into first and got the slightest click as it went in

    No lunging or banging :D

So fingers crossed it's cured !

As normal though nothing is perfect, riding to work in the morning (5am) the gearchange got quite a bit clonky again and the bike ran like crap low down..

This seemed to coincide with the colder weather as it did the same Thursday night when it was colder than the few days before

    Is it a coincidence....Dont know

Is it a pain in the arse....Yes

Not that cold though Jody is it ?
Sounds like there is still a niggling issue.
Can you try and blag a ride on another bike for comparison ?

Once the bike has warmed up, does it tickover smoothly? At what revs?

I have a feeling you might be suffering from an issue with the IACV not operating correctly.

Bike idles like a dream at 1300rpm

TPS and ISCV were reset about 1000 mile ago

Bodies balanced a few weeks ago

Thought it was sorted but starting to dislike it again

I'll try and get a ride on another....

That sounds like clutch cable adjustment to me. I know you've done a lot of work on the clutch itself but did you replace the cable?

I spent a bit of time last week oiling mine and that made it feel lighter and better at getting neutral and clean changes.

Well it'll cost you nowt! I also find that I get better results when I have less slack in the cable than the handbook suggests. Never get any slip but don't have any free-play either.

TBH I'm never quite clear where you are supposed to measure the cable free-play? If I set the tension so that there is free-play at the lever then the clutch doesn't release enough. If I take out the free play so the lever actuates the cable immediately I can select neutral at standstill easily and have perfectly clean smooth changes.

Maybe it would be worth your while playing around with cable adjustment??

I thought it was like that, but on my bike if I set the free play according to that, I have the devil's own job of finding neutral. So rightly or wrongly, after trial and error I run it my way, without any apparent problems.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Be nice if it is the cable, but if it worked better only a day or so ago and now its getting worse again, then I cannot see the cable stretching in that time.
If it has a nylon liner then the cable should not be lubricated, as the oil can make the nylon swell.

Having said all that, seeing as where you are and what you have already done I would:
    1. Replace the standard clutch lever if you have replaced it with an aftermarket one
    2. Replace the clutch cable with a new one, it is amazing how much a seemingly ok cable can cause problems.
