Pure art, nostalgic, black, smart. grand father would have been envious of you and when you ride I bet you will feel you will have him aboard.
Haha just straight home from work, my Son's 3rd birthday yesterday so some things even trump the longer ride home on a new bike. But it was epic nonetheless!
Welcome aboard, only recently joined myself. Thruxton looks really nice, I'm sure you'll enjoy your nostalgic trips through the Cotswolds, I'm just the other side of the hills in Chippenham and know them well. Enjoy.
Lovely bike, welcome. You made the right choice over the Yamaha, the XSR900 is basically an MT 09 in different clothes and despite what the journos write about them they are poor quality compared to trumpets and the fuelling is still shite as is the handling. I know,I had a Roberts rep 09 but couldn't get on with it. It used to get out of shape just running up the drop kerb on to my drive. Fab motor, just rubbish everywhere else.
Yes, after a short test ride on the XSR it was indeed a cracking engine, pulled very hard but just riding over bumps was enough for it to charge off down the road again. Fit and finish not a patch on the Thruxton - but then again it's a step up in terms of price. I'd probably have been more inclined to just jetwash the XSR; with the Thruxton i'm already scoping the local motorcycle detailers!
