Latest progress - been a bit slow what with Christmas and the fact that I had to rely on my mate to do the welding.
New seat loop welded on and frame sprayed today.

@steve lovatt Never spotted this thread till today, what made you do a full build? Thought you were a pen pushing ‘simple mod’ sort of person? You’ve gone higher now in my estimations, well done! E

Thanks Eric! I wan't planning on a full build - I had intended to tidy up the mess matey made and change a few parts but basically keep the bike in a fairly "rough" state ( I don't mean Rat bike rough but something I didn't need to fret over if it got dirty).
Then my mate decided to buy one and ended up with the Custom model (which is hideous to be fair) and although it was immaculate he decided to strip his and go for a rebuild, including changing the Comstar wheels for spokes. Once I saw the wiring on mine I realised that more needed to be done and it kind of snowballed from there! Good experience so far - am dreading the electrics but may not be so bad as we are starting from scratch. (I still have the complete loom more or less connected and labelled for reference). We'll see how it goes! :)

Wet weekend so more work on the CX500's for me and my mate. Trip to Kempton Park bike jumble to get new alloy mudguards and handlebars. Some good stuff there but also the usual rusty sh*t which was even more rusty than usual!

    More work today.
Replaced the broken water pump casing (after replacing the notorious mechanical water pump seal). Good old eBay - £12.00 including gasket!
