After meeting up with TC and crispy at Loomies for lunch (ham, egg and chips) and then doing some w*rk, I managed a few more hours on the Honda.

Bike is finally off the stand and is ready for the electrics to be sorted.
So far only the ignition circuit is in place but nothing else is wired up.
I'm afraid I've bottled this one and the bike is being picked up this evening and taken down to Moore Speed Racing in Poole. My mates CX should be returned and finished. James at MSR has a custom built CX himself so should know what he's doing!

(Will be changing the rear light - that's the one which came on the bike)

Getting better all the time. I am looking for a project like this but have struck out so far. Ah, but the hunt goes on for the project!

Bike is back with all new electrics and a brand new MOT.
Second thoughts re the exhaunts now though - although they passed the MOT (God knows how) we've decided that they are uncomfortably loud. Tried additional packing but no good. Richards bike has reverse cone style silencers so he can damp the sound more but mine are hopeless! Not sure on the look now anyway.

What do you reckon to the replacements?

Hi Steve, I'm sorry mate but for me saucy is not the word I would use to describe those upswept er er er pipes.

Reverse cones in place of the cocktail shakers - yes. Those upswept gutter drainpipes - not really.

The bike is far too pretty for them......................................................

I agree with Big Lad. They look good on the Dominator.

Mate of mine had a pipe like that on an old 900 kwaka
When we went anywhere and parked up overnight....if it rained:rolleyes:....well you can imagine the laughter next morning as it burst into life and sprayed water about 10ft into the air :joy: then steamed like a kettle for the first five or six miles  hilarious if setting off through a town centre :joy:

Thanks Andy that's kind of you. The sweep is in the pipe itself rather than a link pipe. They almost match the upsweep of the frame so I'm going to stick with them for now as we've put a lot of work into making them fit.

We used the pipes last week when the bike came back with the shorty mufflers badly fitted. The angle wasn't quite right to get a tight, aligned fit and they were just too loud.
Richard used the Dominator pipes to see if it would run quieter and it did. The bracket needed to be bent through 90 degrees to make it fit if we were going to use them.
To be honest I didn't like them at all - thought they were too big. Next thing though, Rich has bent and fabricated the brackets and put them on! I might at some point change them but they are now growing on me and seeing them again tonight I quite like the look so they will stay for now.
Just won't leave it out on the rain like Dilli's mate!:cool:
