A701 all the way from Edinburgh bypass or A702 to Dolphinton then A701 to Moffat. A701 through Leadburn is nice run, and the run down into Moffat, the Beeftubs road, is a classic, you'll enjoy that on the Speed3.
Sounds good,my wife has reminded me that we have my nieces birthday party that night, the meals booked for 6.30 so i would have to leave by 3pm ish i reckon.I'd manage the run but i might not have time to stop for lunch,I'm guessing the quickest way home would be motorway via Glasgow... 1. In conversation with Buccleuch hotel, getting back to me tomorrow, but should be good for using facilities.
Buccleuch Arms Hotel got back to me. Great bunch of very biker friendly guys and gals - "We would be more than happy for you to hold a Triumph gathering here on Saturday 9th April. The garden will be available for you to park the bikes and I have written in the diary that you will require lunch on the day. I have attached a ride out menu which is often used when motorbike groups who stop off for a quick bite to eat with us the pricing is set to make it easy. To make it easier for your arrival and minimize delays during service we would ask for you to give us a quick call in the morning before you set off perhaps, so we knew the numbers and if you could get a pre-order this would be great. We can offer a Tea/coffee station and an honestly pot for payment for people to help themselves."
that sounds good,it would depend on the time we get back from the run if i would have time to stay for lunch
Mr. O. I have to congratulate you on your initiative. Well done. Moffat is a lovely wee town and the ride you have planned is just grand. I hope the weather holds up for you. It would be great to join you but unfortunately I can't. Have a blast...
I'll second that. I stopped off in Moffat for breakfast a few weeks ago on my way up to Findhorn on the Moray coast. Had a lovely sausage and egg roll at Ariete's. The town looks very nice too. Just a bit too far for me to join you for your meet.
I grew up in Moffat got some great roads in area never had bike meets back then, but they do say if you can see the hills it's going to rain and if you can't see them it's already raining! Moved to North Wales great roads same shite weather! Have fun lads.
Yuuuuuppppppppppppppp. Still a go'er. Hope everyone can still make it. Glad it's not this weekend, weather bloody atrocious !!!!!! Pray to your god's (if you have one) or fingers crossed, touch wood, etc and let's hope it is dry.
Your prayers seem to be working, forecast has steadily improved from 'pishing it doon' to sunshine and maybe a shower !!! Keep praying to your gods and all will be well 1.
