In Motorcycle Sport & Leisure recently, Triumph stated that out of approx 60,000 bikes made in 2016 or '17 (I forget which), about 27,000 were made in the UK.

  2. Hey Baben: I was curious with your mentioning, well actually puzzled. If Triumph sources locally have capabilities to manufacture (components and assemble) models in more than one plant among the 2 in the U.K and 3 in Thailand, what did the comment source locally mean ? Do they have dual sources , 1 in Thailand and 1 in the U.K. for most or every single purchased part ? Or do they source part of the bill of materials in the U.K and part in Thailand with dual sources in some critical/ selected parts ? Do they mention motors are only made in the U.K. ? In Brazil I know they source a minimum required by law to benefit from the industrial tax regime in Manaus industrial pole (subsides from government : remark : all major motorcycles factories in Brazil are there). So, they source in Brazil only electrical hardware, horn and less important components. Good to know they do not source in China. However , any time a manufacturer tries to launch too many models within a short time spam, reliability and quality problems will follow..Ducati, BMW and Harley Davidson have issues alike. The japanese makers tend to be more conservative and launch less models at a time. Even though the Bonneville family are derivatives of 2 models only with lot´s in common to one another, they cam at fast pace.
