Flat hand seems to be the most popular amongst you lads, perhaps I've been "conditioned":worried:;)

Actually, now I think back, someone warned me by using the tapping on the lid. Wondered wtf he was doing??? maybe people have wondered the same about my signal as I rode off happy I'd done my bit. Someone riding tother way thinking "whats that dick doin?"

We do exactly the same motions here stateside. Tap top of head = Cops ahead. Circular motion with boot = potential road hazard.
EDIT TO ADD - I learned these motions from nearly half a century of riding Harleys. Sportbike guys may have newer road codes. Interesting topic here.

Camera van at the side of the road, was warned by a car driver, with thumbs down.
Couple of miles up the road, there is 12 HARLEY riders, flashed them and thumbs down. Not one of those miserable feckers could be arsed to acknowledge me!!! What a bunch of total cocks:mad:

Lesson learned there then Mr O.
I nodded at a few Harley riders whilst out riding today and couldn't detect any acknowledgement.
Mindst you I was on horseback.

The foot waggling thing was always something I did when off road enduro riding to let those faster than me approaching from behind to pass on that side. Same on the few track days I've done too.

Hear what you say about the hog riders though. It's disappointing that they seem to have that air of aloofness about em, but I think that in being like that they are missing something that I won't let go. They still get a nod from me. If they won't reply, then I think it's they that are missing the point. A point I believe is more important than any "I'm not talking to you lot" bollocks.

Always used the tapping the lid for police warning (not just speed traps) and various other situationally appropriate hand signal (innocent whistle :kissing:) I saw this picture recently which I found interesting, obviously for riders in convoy, but good for group communications.

Great chart, but I'll never remember all them.

I guess You would if that was how you ride... the biker groups who ride in long trains may be aloof to other bikers, but know how to communicate amongst each other. I rarely ride with more than 3 others, but still gesture between each other.

Yeah. I'm sure he thinks he's to cool to be nice. Thing is tho he'd walk past ya staring at his feet if he wasn't on a bike. Two-hat.

I've mostly had flashed lights from other motorists as warning of impending "Safety" camera. However, today I was warned by a bus driver, using the charades sign for "film", (i.e cranking fist). Never seen that one before, but I twigged instantly.
