It Ends With Us...... argh, chick flick! I hope I got points for going to see it with my better half!

Having said that, at least I got all the way through.... tried to watch The Free Guy on TV recently, gave up after 1/2hr of techy rubbish!! :worried:

We watched Horizon two evenings ago and were fairly disappointed. It seemed to meander around and it also seemed like it tried to hard to be an "epic Western". Hopefully Part 2 will be better.

I enjoyed it, but I believe Part 2 is going straight to Netflix or some other streaming service. Shame, I would like to see all the parts on the big screen.

A few posts ago I suggested Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was the worst film I'd seen this year....... I take that back, I've just seen Beetlejuice Beetlejuice!!

Hollywood has done it again, they've taken a mildly amusing little movie and beaten the hell out of it! Some of the comments I overheard leaving the cinema included.....

    "Worst Film Ever!"
    "What a load of sh*te!"
"Where do I get my money back?!"

    Don't bother.

My daughter and I went to see "Reagan" on Friday afternoon. $26.00 for a large popcorn and two large sodas!!!

Ronald Reagan is a personal hero of mine. The movie is based on the book "The Crusader" by Paul Kengor.

Oddly, the story unfolds as being told by an aging, retired KGB agent who monitored Reagan throughout his career. Not spoiling anything here. If you see the movie this will become apparent quickly.

It was schmaltzy at times, but I enjoyed it. Regan's son said the story was pretty much spot-on. The best thing was some of the actual clips of many historical events that occurred when I was younger. These stirred up many memories, some good, some bad.

We rewatched an "oldie but goodie" two nights ago --The Last of the Mohicans. It's one of Steve's all-time favorite movies and is right up there for me, too.

We watched the TV series "Sugar", a mystery with a twist starring Colin Farrell. Quite entertaining. We binged the whole series (8 or 10 episodes I think) in less than a week. :joy:

Watched Bull on Netflix last night. Was a great British revenge thriller with a nasty twist at the end.

    Highly recommend.

Watched an old Sci Fi classic (again) last night, Silent Running from 1972. Special effects in films back then were not really that special compared to modern CGI but some films just make a real impact the first time you watch them. I was 13 when I first saw this and the final scenes, with Bruce Dern saying goodbye to the small Droids and one drifting off into space in the Biosphere, just broke me up.

I watched "Joker: Folie a Deux". It is completely different to the first part, but my wife and I really enjoyed it. I loved how Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga played their characters/roles.;)

Just back from seeing Speak No Evil, which I'd guess is on it's last few days in cinemas - very enjoyable, James McAvoy is great in it.

If you like to make new friends on holiday.... this is not the film for you!!

I'm not a big follower of Formula 1, but I just watched a film/documentary on Amazon Prime called 1 - Life On The Limit, which was a very watchable "history" of Formula 1 from its earliest days, through the drive for greater safety in cars and tracks, up to recent times (2013). Lots of famous drivers and events covered with period footage and driver interviews.

Unfortunately, it is disappearing from Amazon in about 5 days.....

Saw Juror #2 today, before it heads off to a streaming service somewhere. Nicholas Hoult stars in this Clint Eastwood (sort of) take on 12 Angry Men, although it's not in the same class as that classic.

It ended up an expensive afternoon at the cinema - we were a bit early, so had a look round the shops and ended up buying a new rug for the living room!
