Have to agree with Mr Orange, a photo would help a lot, also more idea for fitting etc, does the tank need to come off ?whats the fitting entail exactly, ? I'm not clever enough to copy anything more clarification is whats needed .

    For £15 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are kidding me pal ??????????????????

No wonder you didn't want to post a picture. You can make one of these up for about £1.00 !!!!

What about the live and earth wires ???? An adapter would make use of one of these-
    [IMG]
This is what I would be looking for.

I am going to look into using the spare one already supplied with the bike to produce a plug and play adapter for myself. Pop out your blanking plate on the tank and you'll find the multiplug and the 'spare' male plug. This should have a power supply and a signal for the tacho.

Sorry to burst your bubble David, but I think what your selling ain't worth £15 of anybodies money. Even with instructions.

I waiting on mine being delivered and I will make up a true adapter to plug and play the tacho to the Triumph multiplug under the cowl. I will then happily share all that I find and make on here for free.

We are bikers on here, out to help each other, not to make a fast buck by selling sea monkeys !!!!

    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Your not selling one of them tho' are you ???? Your just selling a Y piece of wire to join the 2 coils !!!! Or are you keeping the triumph plug secret from us, till we've paid you ????? If it was me, I would have posted the above plug wired up to plug and play for £15, that is what I believed you were selling, or are you and you are going to post a picture of that ??/ If you do I apologise and take back everything I said and happily pay £15 for it ??????

if you are just reading this now, David has deleted his pictures from the thread. Why have you done this David?

Is it cos you were just going to send out that wee piece of multicore wire with three spade connectors on it ???

Give me 1/2 hour and I'll knock one up in the garage to show you all what it was !!!!

I agree with Mr Orange. It's all very cloak and dagger from David Lawrence Jones. Not very helpful for guys who are considering a purchase.

I noted David's first post on here was for selling his electrical stuff, I fear that is his sole purpose of joint the forum…..

This took me 10 minutes, including heating the soldering iron up

This is what the 'adapter' looked like. Now that he has taken his picture off the site !!!

Not a blanking cap at all, take it out and you'll see all there ready to accept wires with the right connections crimped on. I am looking into sourcing these and how to fit them on.

SO it needs a diode in line then ? Even with a 10p diode, still ain't worth £15.

Looks easy enough, have diodes and resistors at work.

Your approach has been all wrong, this is a forum where chat and support is the name of the game. Not a place to make a quick buck by with holding info.

That's what eBay is for, you make your wiring loom sell it with the tacho and people will buy and you are offering a good service but to be vague all the time on a forum just to get a sale, its no surprise members become suspicious.

I was from the very first post you made a few weeks back.

Solution on the net to be found.
Once I have a workable solution, I'll be back here with full instructions and if need be I'll make you these connectors up at cost price. Just found Diodes for less than 10p each, resistors cost me bugger all.

Suffolkbumpkin is spot on, this is why I am calling David out on this. I'm not being a twat, but I like to call it as I see it,

    I call a spade - a fuckin shovel !!!!:D

Would be most helpful, just want to know how to get the tacho working on the bike, would be quite happy to contribute financially to the cost of the parts. Fear I have ordered the tacho discussed and won't be able to use it! hey ho live and learn. Great forum and convesation though, worth the £6.69 all day long.
    regards all

"that plug is the blanking cap on the triumph but by the time you find all the parts and how to fit it i think its worth it ! !!"

All parts found, just waiting on last one to be delivered, some 'jap bullet double females'.

The blanking cap is not a blanking cap at all, naughty David not telling the truth there !!!

I have used the spare male multiplug (not a blank) and some pins I've sourced to rig power for the tacho when it arrives.:D

Just wish the bloody tacho's would turn up from china

Would you say sitting back David and insinuating or hoping a member of this forum blows his bike or a newly purchased part is being helpful at all !!! - Just to be proved right or is a few pounds in your pocket worth that to you, !!!! after all you are a member of this forum I thought the whole idea of this forum was to help and share ideas together.
Myself and others have shared ideas and acquired information quite openly on here without the need to charge other members,
PLEASE BEHAVE LIKE A TRIUMPH MEMBER DAVID, AND NOT A BUSINESSMAN.

I can only repeat my disappointment with this, you peddle your comments on here and at least 3 other triumph group Facebook pages all hinting at being helpful but only if you stump up cash.

Surely use the brains you are born with, sell the stuff on eBay, direct people to it and here's a thought on a forum be helpful to your fellow members because for all the people that would make up there own wiring looms because they are more than capable, akka Mr Orange, there will be plenty of others even if capable happy to buy for the convenance of it at the right price.

It's called getting a good reputation and from that you get referrals.

That way on the forums you are a respected go to member and your skills could still earn you a buck or two.

So stop wishing forum members bad luck, get your nose back in joint.
