Completely clear now - I thought the disc was attached to the end of the baffle...but now it’s crystal clear.

Having gone as far as removing the baffle, I’d certainly go the extra step to knock the disc out too.

Thanks again for taking the time to deal with those of us that are slow on the uptake :)

It probably won't make much difference as I'm fairly sure removing the baffle would already affect the warranty with Triumph ;)

No worries mate, maybe consider a custom map from hilltop. The gains from there are defo the way ahead now, especially over the method of a power commander and remap.

Would definitely recommend the Hilltop remap if removing the cat and baffle.
Just removing the baffles *might* be OK without a remap as the cat now stops most of the noise/airflow rather than the baffles.

When I switched from a 2015 Tiger Sport to the updated 2016 with cat and asked the dealer to swap the Scorpion race can, the dealer reckoned the race can (with baffle) may not be free flowing enough for the 2016 as there was very little baffling in the std end can now.
I solved it by not running the baffle in the race can :p

Will removing the baffles only affect the warranty from triumph?
And the Cat, is that located inside the linkpipe og dowmpipes? :)

I asked triumph about the warranty of removal of the baffles. They said this would not affect the warranty however the removal of the cat may, but he couldn’t tell me to be certain on that subject.

All done, made them removable, the disc inside the cars is the biggest problem to remove, it's also a nice sound with the baffles in now the disc is removed. It's how it should be now with removable baffles!

Hope these help, it's a pain of a job but worth it to get the ridiculous disc out, it has a tiny 5mm hole drilled in it and is welded in blocking the pipe right behind the baffles.

Do you think it's possible to remove the just the discs - while the baffles rand carbon tips remain in place?

I'm wondering whether attacking the disc from the inner end using an SDS hammer drill with a narrow cold chisel bit would work. It might be more accurate than whacking it with a "BFH".

I found that the way the welding is on the disc you have to knock it out from the carbon cap end. It's worth all the effort especially as it now has the option of removable baffles. Very loud with them out, with them in its loud but a really nice sound as the disc is gone. I thought after I'd finished the job would it have been possible to remove the disc without the extra work. I think it's possible by using a long drill, and drilling out along the edge of the welding, going all the way around. If you went 3/4 of the way you could then fold it up and down and the the last weld would break away and the disc would come out. On the second disc I used a chisel ro break it free from the carbon end once the baffle was out but when it was 3/4 off I got the disc out as I said. Just a thought but might be worth it.

Thanks for the extra info :)

Plenty of options then - and I'm thinking I'll investigate a more 'surgical' approach of removing just the disc and then see how it sounds.
