Don't know what "gizmo" was on your 2010 Bonnie, but I installed a toggle switch on the headlight assembly of my 2009 America so I could turn headlight off during starting process. Once I did this, no more "click" and my bike starts every time, including in cold weather. My bike is kept in an un-heated garage and there is no electricity to plug in a battery tender. Unlike other bikes, some Triumph models have the headlight remaining on during starting process which draws too much juice and makes the CPU abort the starting process. Basically a Triumph electrical design flaw. CPU cannot be adjusted or re-mapped. Drill hole in headlight assembly, splice toggle switch wire into headlight bulb hot wire, push switch up through hole and tighten in place with nut. Very much an easy do it yourself or have mechanic do it.

I eliminated the "click" problem on my 2009 Triumph by installing a toggle switch on the headlight assembly to be able to turn off headlight during starting process. This is an electrical design flaw on some Triumph models. Even with a good battery, with headlight on, it draws too much juice and CPU aborts the starting process. No more "click" since installing toggle switch.
