I noticed on your excellent quotes you agree to a voluntary 250 excess in doing this your excess will end up in the 600 quid bracket as nearly all insurance companies now have a mandatory 350 / 400 excess then they add your voluntary to that figure, Just letting you know Sam. I normally put down a zero voluntary excess.

my renewal has just been received this morning from Carol Nash comes in at 127 quid with recovery. legal, European cover, riding other bikes etc plus there mandatory excess of 400 quid (robbing barstewards)
So not to bad I reckon but I will still give them a call to try and sneak a little discount :D !!!!

I did however receive a quote via comparison site that was very cheap and contained every possible extra included it was with One Call Insurance, but after reading up on them decided not to go there :eek:

yes theres a 250 voluntary excess, and compulsory is £100. ever since i started diving i've always gone for £250 voluntary, its never really bothered me, but... on the other hand i've never claimed an any insurance, maybe my view would change if i had to pay it on a claim

After reading your post on excess i was intrigued, so i went in to my account and edited my quote so it did not have any voluntary excess, low and behold it came out even cheeper! i cant do any wrong with insurance at the moment!

who is that ins quote with Sam I find it very interesting that an insurance company only have
a compulsary 100 quid XS as they are normally all between 300 and 400

Insured my new Speed, and noticed that changing 3rd party to fully comp, pillion cover, voluntary excess and miles changed the quote by less than £5!
Ended up paying £193 with Bennetts with 9yrs NCB and 56 yrs inc helmet/leathers, legal and RAC euro cover
2007 Aprilia Tuono was only £10 more annually for losing the9 yrs NCB for the Speed
