    Shes in the Bike shop waiting parts, The shaft was broken. Find out today if the shaft will be delivered in time as they are on back order with Triumph. If it turns up i will have her for the Grand Meet, If not then she going to be at least another week. So Anoying, I will be gutted .

    are we talking the splined shaft for alternator and sprag? What do you mean by broken,
    has the bolt sheard off?

    Yes the bolt has sheared . Triumph do a Replacement to solve the issue. Its something to do with the brittleness of the Metal. Maybe you know more about it. Anyway the bikes got the clutch out of it as they were checking that the dreaded Washer hadn't fallen into the mix. Triumph had the part on back order so i will phone him this afternoon for the good or bad news.

    You can send it to me and I can drill it out for a few quid. shaft alone is over £60.

    btw it needs special carbide drills as the shaft is hardened. As you say the bolts were too brittle. V common problem.

    I wish i had known that, I got a call to say he has the new part now. I will keep you in mind if thats ok if i hear of anyone else in the same boat. On a good note i should have my bike back before the grand Meet.
    Thanks again for the offer, I would have jumped at it if i had known earlier. I take it once its fixed it will not happen again.
