The teardrop primary chaincase looks like a 1930’s Ariel.

 

Thanks Trickey, think you're on the money with the 500 Triumph, that primary chain case looks the same. Amazing how 90% of photos on the net are of the other side.

 

Something like this lads but without the armoury.

 

Wondering whether it's a 350 or 500, they look very similar to me?

 

I think they would have worked ok in those day as the roads were possibly in a better condition than they are now.
In other words we need USD forks and trick rear shocks to help combat the roads of today

 

Slightly better than the rear suspension?
BMW seem to think it worth developing
