OK, finished the course and really enjoyed it. Have to put in for my test but may wait until the new year - not decided. Was asked yesterday if I would be interested in staying on, taking another (4 week) course and becoming an instructor. Quite flattering really.

Ha! seriously though Bry well done, what made you decide to go for the IAM qualification? I can't think it makes much difference to insurance costs? (before someone says cos your'e an old fart that's not what I meant...)
As you say after 37 years of motorcycle experience I'm sure you already know more than most?

I've actually gone for the RoSPA (RoADAR - RoSPA Advanced Drivers And Riders) course as opposed to the IAM one. Mainly due to the fact that it's a higher qualification (gold is regarded as the highest civilian qualification that you can attain...) I've gone for this as we're trying to get Bloodbikes Wales set up in North Wales, and if you want to ride with them you've got to have an advanced qualification. Jonny (Spanky) and myself are attending meetings and trying to instil biker input. x

Fair play and well done Bry - I think its a top effort supporting our Bloodbike service. I did inquire about joining our local one that was launched earlier this year but without the advanced qualification you can't take part. This year has been a shitter as my dear old Mums cancer has returned after only a year of being told we had the all clear and with the chemo and radiotherapy trips and then the numerous hospital trips I have been taking her to I couldn't commit to booking anything... maybe next year?

Well done mate - its a truly selfless thing to do and I respect anyone who will give their time and fuel money to help others - top man. Nuff said - back to the insults please x
