Can’t remember! Did I come over and chat to you when you were on your tuono? If I did I’m not impressed as i was on a tiger and I caught you up.

Most who saw me on mine were impressed and couldn't believe it was only a 900 twin

We got a lot of "I had one of those" Triumph Bonneville's in the "60"s

And never seen a bike tow a trailer / camper !

I wonder how many forums in how many countries pictures of my 'road train' appears in. Had Dutch , French and once Swedish tourists photograph Capt in various campsites and fuel stations.

Same with the street triple, didn't much care for the praying mantis eyes, until I looked at a Yamaha MT09 which raised the bar on fugly to the stratosphere, bought stripple the next day. Now I look at my sv650 naked like a cyclops.

What a great stable of bikes, Rspete! And what a great job you've done of snuggling that many bikes into that amount of garage space. You are an inspiration. In fact, you've led me to think that I might be able to wedge two of three more bikes into my own garage. :grinning:

I agree, Wessa! I'm actually glad that there are so many varied motorcycle choices and motorcyclists tastes out there. It makes motorcycle watching (as well as people watching) all the more interesting--conversations too.

Our Sunday ride group is composed of riders with a number of different makes of bikes--Triumph, Harley, Indian, Victory, Yamaha, Kawasaki, BMW, Suzuki, Honda, KTM. Each of us likes our own bikes best and we all give each other a fair amount of teasing about their choices. But we mostly just enjoy our own bike and enjoy riding with others who enjoy their own bikes too.

We have one riding buddy who is crazy for his BMW R1200 GS. He has 50K on it in a couple of years owning it. He told us a funny thing recently when we were talking about the looks / style / ergos / etc. of his bike. He said that he totally loves how his bike looks because "it's so ugly it's cute". :p Go figure....... To each his or her own! :)

Hahaha! Thanks for the encouragement, Rspete. Not that I need it! :p I have a friend who has 2008 Rocket III. And he has managed to wedge that bike plus four others--Kawi Vulcan, Victory Hammer, Honda Shadow, Honda Valkyrie--into one tiny car space. I've considered trading my lovely Audi A4 for a beater that I'd be ok with parking in the driveway to free up four more motorcycle parking spaces in the garage. ;)

If you want conversation then you have to make the approach. Some bike owners will not want to know, others will chat. Like most bike owners, I have a car too. No one ever comes up to me and starts a conversation about my Disc Sport. Why should they? As for snobbish and standoffish, I am certainly not, despite the fact that I am a Triumph owner......and an old man! If asked about the bike I will talk. Does it matter what bike you ride?......unless of course you are a poser.

With the Tiger 800, not usually any reaction unless it's from someone who's thinking of buying one and wants to ask what ownership is like. I pestered a few owners before I bought mine.

With the R1200S (BMW), I get quite a few folk asking about it. Bikers and non bikers. I rode it to the Pyrenees a few years ago and it got quite an audience from local youths.

I'll talk to any bugger but the ones that do want a chat usually tell me their life story, same when i go fishing.
Also, i seem to be a magnet to nutters that's just escaped the asylum. Ok, some of their stories are interesting but others are so far fetched that they must be at least 200 years old in age but only look like their in their 50's. One chap that was interesting to talk to yesterday was the bloke that was in his 70's and was riding a brand new Panigale. Turns out he was in the same regiment as i was. We must have been on tours together 20 odd years ago. When he was in his 50's and i was in my 30's. It was like to show me your wounds and i show you mine. Instead of defusing bombs these days he runs firework displays around the county.
